After various chores, which included a trip to heavily tattooed Walmart, I picked up an handheld computing device and dialed LL:
"I say, Colonel, are you ready for the Burning Man muster?" He held back, non-plussed, "I don't want to hang with dirty hippies, even if they are rich." I thought about this and replied, "But you do understand we shall be charging them, as in cavalry charge, starting off at one end of the Playa and ending at another. Command leading, I trust you're part of our forward echelon?"
I needn't have asked, "Of course I'm in, but we need a dog pack to harry the hippies." A "dog pack"? What did this mean, war dogs?!? Yes, a solid 10,000 dogs, brigade strength, unleashed on rich, Bay Area rainbow hippies after drone swarms have done their worst. Picture the snarling fury.
Imagine, drones attack, dogs attack, a ferocious brigade of them, then Cav sweeps in and destroys an enemy in disarray. "Are you part of this, Horse Sarn't Major?" Affirmative. In fairness, it was an easy bet, not that I'm a betting man, go on and visit the monkey, eh?
See you all at the muster,
LSP
PS. Provide your own mounts.

Don't forget to stop at "Bruno's". Knock back a cold one after rousting the hippies.
Looks like I picked a bad time to put the B-52 in the shop for a new 8-track player and expresso machine, dang my rotten luck.
I'm there if I can bring my Lithgow Enfield with its 17" bayonet... its a reenactment of course!
I can offer enthusiastic sideline support and, if needed, dispatch survivors.
Hippies aren't people, and neither are commies.
Black Rock desert was an interesting place before those *** from SF decided it was their property. For a bunch of save-the-earth greenies, they sure do leave a mess behind.
Enfields? Did someone say Enfields? I can bring my Eddystone M1917 w/bayonet. IIRC, last year's rain dance worked out well.
Will there be refreshments?
Good call, Anon.
Wild, you can still join in! Though, I have to say, air power's important.
Seamus, you must come and bring your Lee with you. Hippies don't like cold steel.
Mr WSF, you're definitely part of the muster.
I have a fondness for hippies, Herr Doktor, but you'll note they get a brigade strength attack dog formation in my battle plan. Commies? Worse. Ok, there's a crossover, but you get my drift.
That's my take too, Anon. Hence the "Cav Option." We have to clean that place up.
RHT, gotta love Enfields. Still have to sort out your project gun...
But of course, Ed. Command will feast in a large pavilion after the victory. LL might be late, owing to "skulls, drinking cups, and such," but you must be there.
Speaking of mustering the troops --

You can't do it right without a pack of savage wolves.
Saw that, RHT, right on. But of course the whole UK War/Conscription thing is absurd PR posturing.
LL, I agree and defer to your experience in this. But d'ye think brigade level packs are too large/unrealistic? I say no, we need that kind of canine power.
