It's said we create in our image, which is more than a little terrifying when it comes to this tepid Kebob Stand on the Information Superhighway. But still, think of the bigger picture. Previous ages built, sculpted, drew and painted beautifully. Their artists produced beautiful things to elevate soul and mind. Why?
Because the soul of those artists was filled with beauty, the beauty of God, of reality Himself, and they tried to express it. Flash forward to today. We live in a time of unparalleled wealth and unparalleled ugliness, witness our hideous art and architecture.
This reflects the state of the souls who create it, and what a miserable, demonic state it is. Witness the latest Balenciaga ad series, featuring children, bondage bear bags, pedophilia and more. They've issued an apology, but so what? The Devil's in the detail and he's still there.
The problem, of course, is that a degenerate, filthy, nihilist revolt against all that's good and true will produce its accordant ugly offspring. And how ugly that is. Stand against it, don't put up with it, don't sponsor it. And yes, I'm looking at you, Podesta Brothers, be assured of justice before the throne of God as you are cast into the Pit and Lake of Fire.
That in mind, strive to fill yourself with the beautiful, good and true, with God; creation follows.
Imago Dei,

Galatians 6:7 in the Bible (King James Version; spelling modernized): “Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
While not a particularly religious person, I am mindful of what I sow. Along with that, I'm careful what I consume that others have sown. Satan, get thee behind me!
Beautiful!
Well said, Parson. Empty souls flailing about in vain trying to fill the emptiness within, never realizing that the answer lies within, and it is there for the asking.
We had Thanksgiving at our daughter and SIL's house. Grandparents (us) aunts and uncles caroused with grandkids, nieces and nephews. A niece on my wife's side now lives 40 minutes away. She got to reconnect with our grown kids, not having seen them since they were all in diapers. We all crowded around the dining room table and ate ourselves silly, our 21 month old grandson stealing the show. We were sent home with leftovers, which means in the morning I will have ham and eggs for breakfast.
It was as you say, "beautiful, good and true", for which we joined hands and gave thanks.
Modern "art" sucks. And modern churches are horrible. They are built so we can all look at each other and not at god. A people without faith create art without beauty.
Music is a reflection of what we think of ourselves. You said that, but when thinking of the subject, I am always reminded of Big Band music of the late 1930s and 1940s. Upbeat and positive.
I'd like to express something erudite. I really would. Instead of that, I'm going to eat a slice of homemade apple pie for breakfast.
Hedonistic?
You be the judge.
LL, I'd say your choice of breakfast pie displays great erudition. All very beauty meets truth in one delicious slice.
That's a very good point, Sgt., it was upbeat and positive and it sounded good.
I totally agree, Infidel. For some reason your comment makes me want to post on the glory of liturgical dance.
Well done, RHT! And I like the ham and eggs solution, tasty.
We need more of it, NFO!
Well said, WSF, and yes indeed, Vade Retro Satana.
Amen, Parson.
You all be safe and God bless. :-)
