Taps

You're maybe recovering from "Cherry" Vann, we are here at the Compound, but note this. Taps just rang across this small town, pre-recorded from the bell tower of the Court House, yes it should be a church. But whatever, very moving, and a call to stop for a moment and pray for those who put their lives in harm's way and beyond.

Without them, where would we be? On topic, have any of you been to a quiet, peaceful, calm, civilized English village or small town? Sure you have. Go in, if you haven't already, to the parish church, a building which has stood for maybe a thousand years or more.

It'll be open, unlike our churches in Texas, so go through that ancient oak door and wonder at the thing, a place where Christians have worshipped for at least hundreds of years. As you do, look at their War Memorials. The first one, typically 1914-18.

Take a little time over it, read the names, there are many of them, hundreds even, all from tiny country villages and towns, men who died when there was real labor on the land. Working men, agricultural laborers and the like, enlisted men. Yes indeed, but also commissioned ranks who were hugely slaughtered, destroying the nation's ruling or governing class.

We could call the latter "gentry," those people who had enough land and income to not have to work, who gave themselves accordingly to the good of the people. You may recall, only men with a settled income could become MPs.

Those men built the greatest Empire the world has ever seen and were destroyed by WWI, WWII and the utter evil of Socialism, the very politics of greed and envy. Pray, ye heathen, for those who gave their lives that we could live free.

Cologne Firefight

Could it be that we've mentally blocked the prospect of war, industrial scale war, from our collective unconscious? You know why, too horrible to behold. That in mind, why is England, with its mighty 150, snerk, tank fleet baying for war against Russia? Why, for that matter, is anyone.

Surely it doesn't have to do with money. In the meanwhile, it looks like the Russkie's aren't going to fold anytime soon, which is weird because we were going to take Donbass, Crimea and Moscow by the end of the summer.

Of course I know nothing, but I do know this: Viz. Napoleon and Hitler failed. Do you think we'd be any different? Well, sure, we are different. We're LGBTQAI+, which makes us so much moar force lethal.

Cheers,

Hitler's Voice In Private

note slack Sam Browne

This, as far as I know, is the only recording of Der Fuhrer's conversational voice. Hitler's speaking with Baron Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, famed Finnish military leader and inveterate enemy of the Red Bolshevik menace. Here's the recording:

I won't comment except to say haunting and salutary. History, they tell us, doesn't repeat but it most certainly does rhyme.

In related news, Russia's apparently churning out tanks and associated munitions after an hiatus of several decades. We, on the other hand, are gleefully indicting 45 who was, let the record show, a Russian spy in the pay of the Kremlin. A veritable GRU agent, so let's hear it, DC and Georgia, you defenders of our great constitutional so totally not a banana republic.

That said, those dam Kremlins get everywhere and how dare they persist in an industrial proxy war with their own local means of production? You know, like actual tank factories and steel mills situated in their own country. Do they not have the sense to off-shore for profit and best burgeoning bank accounts, sorry, Blackrock Larry Fink Benefit all 'round? Apparently not.

A Short Reflection

We were driving from Wooton near Woodstock to Oxford, and I was a precocious 8 year old. "What was it like," I asked the driver, doubtless some kind of prof, "at the end of the war?" He replied, "The Germans, even in retreat, were incredibly disciplined," I was struck by that.

And here's the thing, and it played a part in my decision to join up, the people of my age now were, back in the '70s and '80s, WWII vets. They'd been through it, that awful, cataclysmic fight. And here we are again, baying for blood in the name of... what?

Transgender rights? No, that's a risible rainbow smokescreen. How about massive amounts of money flowing to and from the MIC to our beloved rulers of whatever party. Pay up, serf, so we can be richer and you'll get the consolation prize of a tranny bathroom. Or die, at the front.

Cheers,
