Canons

So there you have it. Canons are roaring, push a pikewager a Guinea on the dam monkey and twice as fast. Stirring stuff, so sign yourself on the nearest glass with a diamond, but as you write your diamond-traced haiku you may have noticed something.

The Roundhead/Cavalier melee was led by... enthusiastic gentlemen for sure, on both sides, some of them even had great campaigning experience. See Rupert of the Rhine, all hail. But note, the main body of men were led by Pros, we'd call 'em contractors today.

No job for old men, eh? But do feel free to disagree. In other news, there was an ordination to the priesthood at Mission #1 today, a beautiful and blessed event. More of that anon.

Gone To The Dogs

You may not have heard that Prince Rupert of the Rhine's battle dog, Boy, was believed to be a witch's familiar. Boy was shot with a silver bullet by superstitious puritan fanatics at the unfortunate battle of Marston Moor.

My dog, Blue Royalist, isn't a witch's familiar but has run the risk of being shot for stealing fried pies, steak, cheese, butter(!) and the occasional chicken. Not very SKCM but we'll let it pass, for now.

Blue isn't going fishing this afternoon, he is staying at the Compound to guard the position against intruders, malfeasants and the various flotsam and jetsam of post-Obama America.

Tight lines,
