Why? Because he told the lying, sly, venal, corrupt, elite, millionaire socialist elite media that violence on both sides of the Charlottesville spectrum was wrong.
Presumably because he didn't adopt the the culturally ascendant, media-driven rhetoric of the Left and endorse the feces throwing, Soros-funded Antifa protesters. That, he said, was wrong and so were the risible antics of the Klan.
I'd call that common sense instead of fascism and I'd bet my fighting monkey that most Americans would agree. However, the debate does spur on the urge to enlist creative people to make up life-size street art images of Confederate Generals. Three for every statue taken down. At least.
In the meanwhile, sorry, BLM and friends, you lost the election and lost hard. The country doesn't like you.
Best,
LSP

At least three. But, more importantly, I'd like to know more about your fighting monkey...
Yeah, those foul evil folk trying to preserve some of our history, they need to rot in hell for this. And to help them along in their inevitable journey across the River Styx, the alt left will gather some thugs armed with 2x4s, baseball bats wearing body armour and Kevlar helmets, sure, these guys are pure and clean as the wind driven snow. Saints all.
Pope Francis should expedite their canonization, it's the right thing to do.
I wish I could be as optimistic about the majority of American opposing tearing down statues and opposing ANTIFA. Hillary Clinton (of the Clinton Crime Family) did get more votes than Trump.
While Constitutionally irrelevant it does point out the continued great strength of the National American Socialist Worker's Party (the Democrats).
I think it's safe to say the overwhelmingly vast majority of Democrats support ANTIFA.
It's a savage beast, Jules!
I wonder how many were paod, Fredd.
Infidel, I'd like to think that most peope here aren't too keen on violence at either end of the spectrum.
But your point is sadly compelling.
Claiming moral equivalence in a conflict may slide into to moral relativism and theologically unsound; moral relativism is actually promoted ideologically by the secular Left. Were the two sides in World War Two morally equivalent? A belief in objective values may require - particularly when violence erupts to make a choice rather than a Pilate-like stance. In the spirit of Matthew 18.15; James 5.19
Padre,
Would you translate what Anonymous said...
That's true enough, Anonymous, and I'm no fan of moral relativism. Who was worse at Charlottesville, the commies or the nazis?
Brig, I think Anon's simply saying that there comes a time when you have to make a choice between right and wrong. Otherwise moral equivalence can turn into a denial of right and wrong altogether, as with Pilate, who washed his hands of the truth.
Of course it gets tricky when both sides of an equation don't look too good!
