Hey now, listen up all ye heathen, what's the best movie? Here at the Compound the vote's unanimous. Best SciFi, Bladerunner. Easy. Best Ancient Rome, Gladiator. Again easy. Hey, feel free to disagree, it's not like there's some kind of "rule," and OK, maybe movies are somehow opaque to you, fair play. That in mind let's hear a song.
Well yes and it's all jolly good fun fun until you meet the players, eh? Here now, pan to the laughing man and hey, apologies to all, I'm just a padre.
That said, we get all kinds of flack in the country like, "I don't need to go Mass, I get my Mass in the deer stand." Uh Huh. No you don't. Get with it kids, Go. To. Church and worship God as opposed to some dam idol.

Crusty Old TV Tech here. Best Movie Explaining Government Lunacy: Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Pick any scene! Best War Movie: The Bridges at Toko-Ri. "Where do we get such men?". Best Nuke War Movie: Dr Strangelove. Slim Pickens, Peter Sellers playing 3 different characters, and James Earl Jones as a Bombadier! What a movie. Best Sci-Fi: Fahrenheit 451 (Francois Truffat 60's version). Julie Christie and Oscar Werner, and goverment burning books. A movie for our current age.

I’ve seen so few movies that I have to vote for the three I’ve seen more than once: Steve McQueen’s Bullitt, Bruce Brown’s On Any Sunday, and the masterwork by the execrable Reiner, The Princess Bride, wonderful for daughter and then grandkids.
Best morality movie: Lord Jim starring Peter O'Toole.
Best war movie: Lawrence of Arabia also starring O'Toole
Best Viet Nam war movie: Apocalypse Now (with reservations)
Best cop/car chase: SP RN nailed - Bullitt starring the King of Cool.
Best crime movie: The Getaway also starring Steve McQueen
Best western: The Wild Bunch (runners up Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, The Professionals, Bite the Bullet, The Cowboys and Tell them Valdez is Coming)
Best Epic: Ben Hur starring Charleton Hesston.
Best comedy: It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
