You'll be surprised to know this, unconcerned punters, that one of the many benefits of staying in the Sceptered Isle, aka Disunited Kingdom, is that you get to watch all these reruns of classic US crime/adventure shows. Seriously, it's all on regular TV, huh.
So there we were on New Row, just off Covent Garden, with the TV on, I was shaving, personal admin being important, when Mrs LSP cries out, "Come in here, you have to see this, it's Magnum PI!" Well she wasn't wrong. What. Utter. Genius.
So who's best, Magnum himself, who is undeniably awesome, Higgins, who is remarkably awesome or the scriptwriter himself? Maybe all of these. But hey, you don't need to go to London to watch the amazing Magnum PI, you can dial it in from here, in the US, for a small but worth it fee. While you're at it, watch Slow Horses.
Best,
LSP

We have Magnum on DVD. Much easier to watch without commercials.
All the characters are great. All the actors are great. It's a great show. Though Magnum edges out Higgins by a smidge.
And the remake? Magnum had a daughter, why didn't they do Magnum's daughter as the new 'Magnum' instead of some non-white/non-Hawaiian hispanic origin dude? Dammit!!!
Magnum is one of my favorite shows. The episode with Frank Sinatra was exceptionally good.
As Beans points out (above) the sequel was too woke to watch, which is too bad. They could have done something good with it and blew the opportunity.
The real Magnum, not the re-boot.
Do read the Slow Horses series. Start at ‘Slow Horses’ and read in order to the newest ‘Clown Town’, then for added enjoyment ‘Nobody Walks’. A year’s bedtime reading… if you can stomach the masked staff at the public library.

And tragically our 3rd Term President, aka. The last administration, bought the ‘Robins Nest’ property and has created nothing but problems for neighbors. In 2015 Marty Nesbitt, a close friend of the O’s, bought the property and tore the iconic historic mansion down in 2018, then sold the property to the O’s. Hubris knows no bounds in the elite minded.
Isn't it strange that the very elite rich douchenozzles that keep screaming at Nomal People about Globull Warming keep buying sea-side houses?
Selleck played an interesting character , Jesse Stone , post Magnum P.I. . It was a short series , big city cop , goes to small town , fights the bottle habit , bends the rules, talks to his dog , good show.
Great series…need him to do one more.
Because even they don’t believe their pablum laden baloney. O was apparently a real @#$& to deal with according to one contractor. Can always tell a persons character in how they treat those working for them, whether waitstaff, subcontractor, or neighbors (who he has really ticked off). That guy needs to be let down a few notches.
Yes, the Halfrican American was, according to my sources, horrid and the Mooch was even scarier. Neither of them were as bad as Hillary in the White House (she required even protection details to not look at her.)
Got those movies, too. Excellent and very, hmmm, not Magnum. Even when he does things right, Jesse just lives a screwed up life.
