Extinction Event

Everyone knows that fragile planet earth was in the grip of an Ice Age some 14,000 years ago. It was terrible, everything was frozen and icy. Then someone forgot to pay their carbon tax and everything started to defrost, all that ice began to melt. Happy days for Megafauna and the Clovis people in North America. But then, at around 12,800 years ago everything changed.

The ice returned, it grew back, and the Megafauna and Clovis people disappeared. Why, what caused this extinction and drastic change in temperature in what the boffins call "The Younger Dryas"? Good question. What we know is this: There's a layer of soot, the Black Mat, rich in nano diamonds, spherules and platinum which can be found all around the world.

Below this layer we find Clovis points and Megafauna remains, after it we don't, they died off. What caused the sudden drop in temperature, with its sudden die-off and tell-tale soot layer? Extreme heat, as in a comet which airburst over North America and beyond, catastrophically igniting vegetation and plunging the earth into what we'd now call a nuclear winter.

That's one take on the Younger Dryas, the one I prefer, but others say it's all about currents of water in the Atlantic. Feel free to believe that kids, there's no rule, but you'd better explain that multi-continental layer of soot curiously washed ashore by "ocean currents." Your argument's not only boring, it's wrong, sort of thing. But what am I saying.

Everyone knows the continent-wide extinction was brought on by Vatican II (empty the pew) and the Anglosphere's gleeful acceptance of wymxn priestesses. Seriously though, why do you not think God won't send a massive rock from space to end our current degeneracy?     You understand the parable.

Some Kind Of Joke?

Well yes, yes it is, and the joke's on you, Guardian reader elitocracy of the Church of England. You elected Sarah Mullally to be your next leaderene. Imagine, if you can, Archbishops Ramsey, Temple, Lang et al wondering, in shocked awe, at this risible DEI appointment to Augustine's throne. "No one will take us seriously if we don't ordain womyn priests," sang the chorus. Chortle, and pan to empty pews and litugical dance in an empty church. But someone's not laughing.

That'd be Rev. Alan Griffin, who killed himself after a secret COE report "spread false gossip that he abused children and paid for sex." According to Anglican Ink:

Written by the former head of operations in the diocese, a man since jailed for a £5.2m fraud against the Church, the report contained a toxic mixture of genuine safeguarding concerns and unsubstantiated smears about 42 members of the clergy – including Father Alan.

Mullally apparently saw the report when she was the Bishop Figure of the Diocese of London and took no action. She "didn't read it," claims Anglican Ink. Rev. Robert Thompson ups the ante, "I think the entire diocese has blood on its hands. When Sarah presided at the Eucharist, I felt that the blood of Alan Griffin was on her hands."

Malfeasance, fraud and skulduggery is always despicable, and it's especially despicable in the Church, which is the Mystical Body of Christ, militant on earth, expectant and triumphant in heaven. Whether the risible Mullally will ascend to the COE's top job remains to be seen. Perhaps she'll console zhirself with they/them medals if zhe doesn't.

The Archdeacon Of Racist Drivel

Archdeacon Miranda Threlfall-Holmes blasted "whiteness" and "patriarchy" on social media last week, stating:

I went to a conference on whiteness last autumn. It was very good, very interesting and made me realise: whiteness is to race as patriarchy is to gender. So yes, let’s have anti whiteness, & let’s smash the patriarchy. That’s not anti-white, or anti-men, it’s anti-oppression.

Threlfall-Holmes is Archdeacon of Liverpool. Keen-eyed readers will notice zhe's white. And you can read about the venerable if shrinking COE's obsession with racism and white middle class self-loathing here and here  and here.

Please, someone, anyone, make this dropped-on-head-as-infant drivel stop.

Thanks,

So What's Going On In The Church Of England?

What an excellent question and I know you're far too busy listening to our beloved Octogenarian Ruler to think much about Old Mother Damnable the dear old Church of England. But here at the Compound we're boycotting the Old Crook and turning night optics to Ecclesia Anglicana, after all, it's Lent. So what's going on. Rev. Dr. Ian Paul sums it up neatly, via Virtueonline:

Since the first report on marriage and sexuality in 1979, in contrast with debates about divorce and about the ministry of women, no consensus for change has emerged. The Shared Conversations and the LLF process have taken up most of the last ten years. The result? We are more anxious, more divided, more uncertain. The fateful phrase 'a radical new Christian inclusion' has unleashed a civil war in the Church.

In that time, adult attendance has fallen 30%, and the decline is accelerating. Child attendance has fallen 40% in the same period. And in the last three years, vocations to ordained ministry have collapsed by 40%. There is a very real prospect that ministry is going to collapse in large parts of the Church of England within the next five years. Where is this on our agenda?

But here is the other stark reality: Other churches are growing. But we are reluctant to learn from them. We now represent something less than 18% of all Christians in a church on Sunday. We have another eight hours scheduled to talk about LLF (Living in Love and Freedom, ie. gay marriage ritual blessings). What it will it produce? More division, more frustration, no more progress. Fiddling whilst Canterbury burns doesn't even capture it.

If we continue this fruitless process, that will be the legacy we leave: the Church of England, a heap of ruins. It is up to us.

Quite, and you'll be pleased to know the Church of England feels tremendously guilty about something called "chattel slavery" and intends to send the wymxn priestess gay sex vote buying  (you can't write that, Ed.) vast sum of £100 million to Africa even as English churches are closing and clergy can't afford to keep the lights on.

Nasty at any level

Well you know what they say, go woke go broke, and I guess this exciting dispatch from the War on the Rainbow files vaguely under "Church" and "God."

Just keeping it real,
