Off To The Land Of The Ice And Snow

 

The land of the ice and snow, aka Canada, which means getting up at an unearthly hour tomorrow and venturing forth to DFW and the joy of modern air travel. What will Alberta be like? Will you still be able to pay with cash, will there be giant billboards of Justine Trudeau staring down at you from Orwellian rainbow hoardings?

Who knows, and this mission's all about reconnaissance, it's a recce patrol. And I tell you, it's been a few years since I've been there, not since the deadliest plague to lockdown humanity in the history of deadliest plagues. That's passed over now, leaving 99.9% of the populace alive, so let's see what's left of Calgary, Alberta, in the aftermath of the horror.

My feeling is that the Ranchmen's Club still stands. Regardless, see you on the other side.

Has The World Gone Mad?

 

Perhaps it has. Canada, of all places, has dropped Covid vax, mask and test requirements to enter the country. Yes, Canada, the same country which unpersoned truckers for protesting the devil jab mandate earlier this year.

I guess the science changed as of October 1, but don't take my word for it, here's the Canadian government itself:

Wow, you don't even have to fill in the Stasi ArriveCAN app tracker to get into the land of the ice and snow. No, just come on in, vax, no vax, batflu, no batflu, the emergency is over almost as though it never existed in the first place. Crazy times.

Of course we're way more sane here in the US, where vax requirements are in full force for non US citizens trying to enter the country. Unless they're illegal aliens, who don't have to have the vax because they don't spread the super deadly virus. Go on, ask the science and see where it gets you.

In related news, Justine Trudeau's banned handgun sales in Leafland, which'll stop all the gun crime criminals who notoriously obey all the laws, except when they don't.

Junior LSP Roofie

 

I know, this is a family blog so all six of you readers get the news on my eldest son who's enjoying the Army. Well done, boy. But there's another son you've hardly heard of, a Junior LSP, who lives in the land of the ice and snow, in Calgary. What's he up to?

Roofing. That's right, up at 5 am and onto the roofs of Calgary and beyond, which is no small thing right about now with our Old Enemy the Weather about to get -40++ with the wind. You can imagine what it's like on the roofs.

So respect to the young 'un. Graduate from High School and get up on that roof instead of taking a "year out" as some kind of two-bit hippy. And, when college looms shortly he'll be able to pay for it, what with having a trade and all. Quite unlike, say, trannie theater collective majors.

Familial plaudit regardless, we spoke for the first time in a while this evening, "Dad, we were working on a roof in Cochrane for the RCMP, it was pretty cool, a big complex, and there was this noise, so we stopped and looked up. A bald eagle, soaring, I couldn't believe it was real, but it was."

Boxing Day And On To Canada

Christmas day was great, feasting and fun with friends and family, then it was Boxing Day. I strolled over to a diner with the Private for a late and large portioned breakfast, tasty.  And after a well needed re-org we headed to the airport, objective? The Land of The Ice And Snow, aka Canada.

As everyone knows, flying's pretty miserable but our flight worked out well thanks to not one but two upgrades on account of the Private being active military traveling with orders. Good work AA, USO didn't hurt either.

So we ended up in the first two seats of the plane with a bizarre amount of legroom, comp drinks in real glasses, a meal with metal cutlery and all laid on, thank you very much. A bit like flying in the olden days and I tell you, it made the trip to Calgary most congenial.

And there we were, as if faster than you could say Justine Blackface Beta Socks Trudeau, landed at YYC. 

It was good to be back in the Great White North; I like Canada and I especially like Calgary. Stay tuned as this snowy mountain town adventure unfolds.

Land of the Ice and Snow

It was a typical Christmas morning for me. Roosters crowing, dogs barking, Mexicans wearing Santa hats and getting in the Navidad spirit. I like all of that. Then I drove to Dallas, to spend Christmas with all the other ninjas in the DLC. I like that too.

And the table looks good, HQ style. I fly to the land of the ice and snow tomorrow. It's a tradition.
