Lee Speed

 

You may scoff and wag your heads saying "Lsp is a fool," and that's as maybe, but I do have a liking for Lee Enfield rifles. That's partly nostalgia, they were a part of my youth, and partly because they're cool, especially the early sporter Lee Speeds.

Safari sights, elegant wood, hand checkering, the redoubtable and smooth as silk Lee action all combine together to make a beautiful weapon at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent Mauser. And guess what, the rifle has that Edwardian awesomeness we all love. God save the Tzar King. Result.

That in mind, I put in a call to a pal, "Hey, you're kinda in the business. Can you find me a Lee Speed? It must work, not interested in a wall hanger." Which brings us back to art philosophy.

Guns are works of art, good or bad, the Lee Speed being good. But their potential, as such, is only realized in their use, fulfilling the end or τέλος for which they were designed. Parse that as you will.

OK, discussion of matter, potential and act over, I won't be shooting majestic Lions or furious Cape Buffalo with my Speed, more's the pity. But exercising ballistic Edwardiana against paper's no bad thing either, to say nothing of unexpected targets of opportunity.

Vote Rigging Skulduggery

It's no secret that America's corporate-sponsored Communist Party, the Democrats, are all about rigging elections. They've been at it forever, even before they went full Cultural Marxist. 

Of course this aligns well with their new revolutionary red persona. Commies have always sat light to the actual will of the people in pursuit of their workers' paradise.

And maybe one should wonder if that major party really is Democratic."

Well said, Mark. Nothing to do with democracy, all to do with power. And the so far thwarted demons of the #MillSoc Left sure are shrieking for it. 

Coming to a point, eh? Let's see how it plays out in November and beyond. I predict turbulence.

Commies Hate Christianity - Wake Up

Some Christians, notably Archbishop figures, think the Left can be appeased and lived with. All they do is apologise for "racism" as their Churches are attacked by radical Marxists. These idiots, Archbishop and beyond,  should read Solzhenitsyn:

As it stands, three churches have burned in the last few days in North America, along with two statues of the Virgin. Perhaps you think this somehow contrived, exaggerated. If so, think on this. 

Some 77 million Christians have been martyred since the Faith began. Fully half, 33 million, are accounted for by Marxists in the last century. And the Communist persecution continues today, notably in China.

From our religious leaders, the press, politicians? A resounding silence, crickets. It's almost as though they were part of the problem. Imagine that.
