The gun is a tool, an important tool in the art of bushcraft, of being able to survive in the wild. Some opt for shotguns because they get the job done and ammo is plentiful and cheap.
With that in mind, we're pleased to present this short training video and hope you find it as useful as we do, here at the Compound.
Shoot straight,

Usually a range day at the compound (if I recall correctly) calls for shooting targets farther away than 10 feet with a shotgun. And if you'll notice, the nimrod couldn't hit the target 50% of the time.
He almost won a Darwin Award.
Certainly there's something to be said about using a common caliber, especially resupplying away from home. There's many backroad gas station/hardware/grocery stores that have a few boxes each of standard hunting calibers, including .308, .30-30, .30-06, and 12-ga. They so far are light on .223 and 7.62x39, or newer ones like .300whatever, so don't rely on them for rearming the DLC during field exercises, plan accordingly by bringing enough for the return trip. Don't be that guy whose empty gun becomes an awkward club!
Handy training video, eh, LL?
Very sound advice, Mattexian!
Good grief!
This is an exemplary video. I think we had this one in our NRA safety course that I went through 204 years ago. It still makes the tummy go all squeegee watching it though.
Sweet Jebus. He's a lucky chap. Not a smart one, but a lucky one.
Look down the wrong end of a misfired shotgun...great idea..as LL says...Darwin Award.
More needs to be said. Yes, much more.
How terrifying these days are.
I still prefer a .357 Magnum revolver. Lots of that ammo around, and if not you can still feed it .38 ammo, also pretty common.
And you can conceal it way better than a 12 gauge, unless you weigh 600 pounds, and then the point is moot (you can conceal ANYTHING at that size).
They're all out there, Adrienne. Driving cars.
Sure does, Euripides...
The angels were working overtime, Padre!
You get the feeling, Lukeya, that "natural selection" isn't an entirely flawed theory...
So true, James. Please don't add to the mayhem by imitating the man in the video! And remember, every gun is a loaded gun.
Some people think, Fredd, that the .357 revolver is the ONE gun to rule them all. I should probably get one to find out. I like revolvers, btw.
LSP, I will bring a Colt Python for you to try out.
He should probably be restricted to double-guns only. The pump is too complicated.
The pump's obviously not the right gun for him, Chas...
