Putler, the evil, insane, Hitlerian, psycho, transphobe AUTOCRAT launched against Rainbow Ukraine in an act of mad unprovoked Hitlerian fervor. That's the narrative, and if you don't believe it we'll LOCK YOU UP, for terrorism, in the UK. That's the UK; why are they so invested in this fight against Russia? Because Crimea 1860s? C'mon, help me out. Because US imperial plaything? Whatev, your call.
That aside, in another timeline NATO provokes Russia into a proxy war in which NATO countries gambled onna fast victory and then got surprised when the thing went industrial and they... didn't have any industry, oops, because all off-shored to China. And guess what?
The same industrial behemoth you've sent all your factories to, you know, like steel and stuff, is a RUSSIAN ALLY. Well far out. Good thing the Ivy League's in power, right? All hail Duke and Princeton. Bow down before the Harvard Genius Patrol. And thank Gaia this result is in an alt timeline.
Your old Battle Buddy,

The UK may or may not be the plaything of the Imperial US, but the shambolic walking corpse of the Republic is definitely someone’s attack dog.
A hate-filled bigot might Notice that the Ivy League is certainly no bastion of WASPy power, considering who runs it, and who are so wildly disproportionately over represented as both students and faculty. But I certainly am not going to Notice because I might have to pop over to London later this year, and wouldn’t want to get further on Mrs Two-Tier’s bad side.
I hate that piece of dog-squeezed tripe of John Lenin (misspelling intentional.) Hates it. Only way it could have been worse is if Yoko, Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen sang the infernal thing. Bad enough John himself sung it. Blech. Baaaaaarrrrf!
As to NATO and England and France and even the US, feckless dumbasses. Especially us. We can't even build a functioning warship without cost overruns, rebuilding and other such bullscat.
Meanwhile, Russia is bleeding itself dry in materials and manpower while China and North Korea are selling their seconds and thirds to Mother Russia.
The only victor in any of this is Red China, which is watching Russia get weaker and weaker by the day. Already Russia has conceded on some disputed lands. How long before Joe Chinaman just up and walks into Siberia and to the east side of the Urals? Will there be any Russians and Russian equipment to even make a token stand? Much more land, more resources to the north and west than trying to take Taiwan.
These are all features, not defects.

It's all very well to construct your own fantasy universe when you know very well that you won't have to live in it.
All most amusing, as China can't even produce its own "advanced rifle" [they slammed an AR-15 and an AK-47 together to produce a hybrid with the worst features of each]. Watch the actual economics play out. The laws of supply and demand seem to be almost divine - they cannot be supplanted by 5 year plans or a "command" economy. China is in horrible economic shape. Russia is a one commodity (energy) economy dependent on Iran (to sell its oil). Iran is scared to death of what Israel might do to it. Almost like a bunch of dominoes waiting for the first one to fall.
It must be difficult for expats to watch what happens in their once home countries, then look around and see what is happening here.
Mike, I asked a Baylor pol phil prof if we were a "Banana Ruplic." He replied, being smart, "We would be, if we were a republic."
But yes, I must calm down too, as a trip to Old Blighty's in the offing.
Good question, Beans. LL feels China's got way too much going on within its own borders to messing around with foreign adventurism. TBF, he knows his stuff.
Russia? You'll remember our honest as the day's long media were telling us that Russia had run out of men, components, weapons and cash a year or so ago.
Let's never underestimate them.
That in mind, search out the Hitler/Mannerheim convo. Revealing.
Features/Defects.
I find that verdict terrifying, Wild.
Now that, Ritchie, is most astute.
Good call, Anon. Let's see how this plays out.
It's not good at all, WSF, I have to say.
