London Cryptids - The Mullally

London, England, is home to many mysterious creatures unacknowledged by conventional science,  such as Springheel Jack, the Highgate Vampire, the Nameless Thing of Berkeley Square, the River Thames Monster and the Mullally.

The Mullally is reportedly a shortsighted half-man, half-woman and manifests itself as an Anglican bishop figure, terrifying onlookers with sexual innuendo and fearsome teeth. Colloquially known as "Bishop of London," the Mullally attempts to hypnotize its hearers with dysphoric doublethink.

"It's just plain ugly," said one clergyman on condition of anonymity. However, the Justsin Welby, another famous London cryptid, disagreed, “I will be extremely joyfully celebratory of these new [gay prayers of gay blessing]." Much like the Mullally, the Justsin Welby instantiates as a bishop figure but witnesses report it will not perform gay blessings out of concern for "pastoral care."

Scientific consensus rules against sightings of cryptids like the Mullally and the Welby, "They're just fevered products of overheated imagination, not bishops at all," stated a former member of the Church of England's Catholic Group.

Here at the Compound we're inclined to agree with the skeptics.

That is all,

Crockford's

You, the discerning and gentle reader, will be pleased to know that I'm not a gambling man. Far be it from me to wager fast and loose on the vagaries of Dog Coin, the Peoples' Currency, and other speculation. That said, others have gambled and played deep, not least at Crockford's on St. James in the 1820s.

William Crockford was a fishmonger, born and raised at Temple Bar in London but, with a quick mathematical mind and attention to odds raised himself to a professional gambler, winning a massive fortune at cards, 100,000 pounds, millions now, at a game with various nobility in a tavern off St. James.

The Fishmonger gambler sensibly invested this money in a club, No. 50 St. James, over and against White's. This aristocratic gambling hell became all the rage, as did its play. For example:

The great majority of the club’s members were serious, indeed inveterate, gamblers. The equivalent of about $40 million is believed to have changed hands over Crockford’s first two seasons; Lord Rivers once lost £23,000 ($3 million) in a single evening, and the Earl of Sefton, a wastrel of whom the diarist Charles Greville observed that “his natural parts were excessively lively, but his education had been wholly neglected,” lost about £250,000 (almost $33 million today) over a period of years. He died owing Crockford more than $5 million more, a debt that his son felt obliged to discharge.

Crockford retired a multi-millionaire (not a socialist) in the 1840s and lost most of his fortune, apparently, on ill-advised bets on the Derby. Captain Gronow reckons, on reflection, "One may safely say, without exaggeration, that Crockford won the whole of the ready money of the then existing generation.” Quite a thing, we're talking millions and millions of pounds by 1820s/30s reckoning.

The Clubhouse still exists today and you can see it on your left as you stroll towards White's famous bay window. It was bought by a Russian oligarch around a decade ago and then squatted. Rumours that the DLC are purchasing this fine Regency building are precisely that, rumours.

I'm Confused

Go on, so-called LSP, state the obvious why don't you. Fair comment but hold fire, Why are a Scorpion of 5 black police officers being accused of "white supremacy" for beating another black man to death at a traffic stop in Memphis? But they are, via Fox:

"Doesn’t matter what color those police officers are," Rep. Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., tweeted on Friday evening.

"The murder of Tyre Nichols is anti-Black and the result of white supremacy," he added.

Frost's deleted his stupid, ignorant and foolish tweet but there it stands. How then does this death fall under "white supremacy"? The policemen who killed the perp are black, notoriously. Perhaps they were fighting some kind of tribal war, sponsored by white oppressors?

Perhaps. Then again, maybe they just got fed up with perps like Tyre Nichols resisting arrest in Memphis, Tennessee and went full on POC savage. That's not to excuse them or Tyre, who died for his pains, but still, why are the police in question somehow racist?

Surely not because the whole idea of law and order, mathematics, ethics, grammar, national parks and the nation itself, the whole construct of Western Civ is an assault against "blackness" and therefore fit to be destroyed, oppressive thing that it is. And hey, look at the consequence, 5 black cops beat some black guy to death and squads of privileged white kid nihilists set fire to Democrat run cities, surely no one's paying them.

Word to the wise, and it's like an axiom. Viz. Everything the Left proposes or enacts produces the exact opposite of its intended result. Reflect on that as you will.

Good News

I know what you're like, all you eagle-eyed readers of the latest blasphemous comedy which is the Church News Cycle. You're thinking "we're going to Hell in a handbasket." True, it's not a pretty picture, but there are bright spots. Here's this from Adrienne's trad Latin RC parish:

Here's some encouraging numbers for you from St. Joan of Arc: In 2022, there were 68,500 attendees at Sunday Masses and over 100,000 total at Holy Mass when weekday Masses are included. In addition, there were 55 baptisms, 65 who received First Communion, and eight adult confirmations. We also had 87 new families/individuals join the parish. On January 21, 2023 Confirmation was conferred on 70 parishioners.

Well done and this goes to show the thirst and need for the real deal as opposed to something else. We saw the same thing with Elizabeth II, when you think on it. The people loved her because she was true, and so must we be, whether in religion or anything else.

Remember, punters. Satan's the Father of lies and we're against that. Also note, there are islands of sanity and holiness amidst the breakdown into degenerate barbarism.

Retreat!

There we were, advancing in a different direction at our annual diocesan clergy retreat, which has resumed in full after two years of the Covid Craze. And good thing too, what a faithful group of priests, just a pleasure to be with.

Our retreat conductor was excellent, Abbott Luis Gonzales, OSB, who gave a series of conferences on the spiritual life, drawing heavily on Dom Columba Marmion. And what's wrong with that? Nothing whatsoever and we were challenged to advance in perfection.

That in mind, you'll be shocked and surprised to know there weren't any priestesses, guitar playing nuns, liturgical dancers or rainbow blessings at the retreat. No, only the Faith once delivered by Christ to the Apostles and thence to us.

Well, it was over all too soon but I left refreshed in spirit. Go to Montserrat's incarnation on Lake Dallas if you can, it's a good place and its silence is important.

God bless you all,

British Army Shortfall

According to a Mirror exclusive, 16,000 people left the British armed forces last year, leaving the once empire building military with a 4000 persyn shortfall. And that's really strange because the UK's spent a whopping $75 million on recruitment PR.

It's a great campaign, with an emphasis on getting gays, trannies(?), snowflakes, Muslims and womyn to join the Army. You know, just the sort of demographic which supplies the Sceptered Isle with its new soldiers.

Genius level PR. So why has it failed so miserably? Could it be because POC, tranny, snowflake, Muslimas don't actually want to join up? Or would it be because enlisted soldiers are paid less than tofu burger flippers and dumped like a ton of net zero non-compliant coal when they leave the service? Maybe both.

But here's an infovideo:

Quite. Draw your own conclusions.

Floreat,

Some Good News

Good news? That's preposterous, so-called LSP, if that's your real name, which we doubt. But not so fast, punters, there is good news and here it is. The sun shines, the sky is blue, devoid of chemtrails, and the sacrifice of the Mass was offered this morning, not once but twice.

And there were the faithful, and they are, coming together to worship God, hear his Word and receive the Sacrament of the Altar, his Body and Blood, in which we find union with Our Lord's paschal sacrifice on Calvary and with it the forgiveness of sin and a share, even now, in the glorious risen life of the empty tomb.

Therein lies sanctification, freedom, hope and glory, right here in North Central Texas and I say that unreservedly. On topic, if you'd said in the '90s that I'd be  Priest in Charge of two small rural missions in Texas I'd have laughed. Hardly grand enough, where's that stone Altar and polychrome reredos.

But the joke would've been on me. I'll leave you to do the spiritual math. In the meanwhile, have a beautiful Sunday and as always, God bless you all.

Shoot straight,

Soul Searching

Rich Old Fraud Meets Wealthy Young Buffoon

"Recently, several pundits on the political Right have jumped in with the Democrats on the anti-Russia bandwagon." That was over a year ago, surely more pertinent now than ever.

Via Nightwind:

Recently, several pundits on the political Right have jumped in with the Democrats on the anti-Russia bandwagon. I've often said that the Left has no monopoly on NPCs and it's really beginning to show. There seems to be a major strain of thought---brought on the Neocons of the Bush Era---that American strength is measured by its ability to push around other sovereign countries up to and including obliterating them with military force. It shouldn't be surprising that Senate Republicans---the same people criticizing Hunter Biden---are heavily represented on the Ukrainian Government's foreign lobbying payroll.

"Firms working for Ukrainian interests have inundated Congressional offices, think-tanks, and journalists with more than 10,000 messages and meetings in 2021, according to an analysis of Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, filings for a forthcoming report from the Quincy Institute,” the think tank’s Ben Freeman writes today. “To put this extraordinary campaign into perspective, the Saudi lobby — known for being one of the largest foreign lobbies in D.C. — reported 2,834 contacts, barely a quarter of what Ukraine’s agents have done...

“Congress has been the primary target of Ukraine’s agents, with over 300 House and Senate staff and members of Congress on the receiving end of more than 8,000 emails, phone calls, and meetings with Ukraine’s lobbyists. Agents representing the Ukrainian Federation of Employers of the Oil and Gas Industry, or UFEOGI, the largest association of energy companies in Ukraine, have flooded Capitol Hill with headlines like ‘Ukrainians call on U.S. Senate to sanction Putin’s pipeline weapon,’ and others claiming ‘Moscow regards concessions as a sign of weakness.’ "The lobbyists seem to have found a friendly ear in Senate Republicans, in particular Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX),” the former boss of Yorktown Solutions’ Daniel Vajdich, who represents the UFEOGI. Outreach was also “focused intently on senators who co-sponsored 2020 legislation to block completion of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, including Cruz; John Barrasso (R-Wyo.); Tom Cotton, (R-Ark.); and Ron Johnson, (R-Wis.)."

...How has conducting US Foreign Policy with a sledgehammer done us any good at all?

The short answer is that it hasn't. In fact, it seems to have turned into the Neocon version of Virtue-Signalling.

You can read the whole thing here and I call X-Ring, but see what you think. It's not like there's some kind of "rule."

In the meanwhile, an aggressively young soldier's walked through the door, full of high spirits. Kyrie Eleison and more on that later.

Are We The Good Guys?

Sorry, persynns, but serious question. Can you pray in our public schools?  No. Do we live under a just and fair rule of law? Try not to smirk and puke at the same time. Do we have a free press or a bought and sold simulacrum of the same? Chunder. Are we a Christian nation, under God, or under Baphomet?

I'd argue and so would the monkey, who's a vicious beast, that we're the latter. Meanwhile, Russia not only flogs and imprisons P. Riot but also outlaws so-called Pride agitprop. They even have a flat tax of 13%, last time I checked, and they're building 1000s of churches.

So who's more Red, the US or Russia. That in mind, Just think on our inevitable victory parade in Red Square, all those rainbow flags flying, to say nothing of the children they've abused. Satan's victory.

I know you disagree, all you Cold Warriors, but I say good call Russia for taking on Globohomo Inc., I hope they win and ban Pedo-Pride parades everywhere.  As it goes, the rainbow West's emptying its munitions stockpile because never have to fight another conventional war ever, ever. Take note, UKLF and so-called "Conservatives."

That in mind, when UKR forces crack and fold, what then? We have billions invested, would we just walk away, like Afghanistan? Or would we quadruple down in favor of ROI? R standing for rainbow, obviously.

Readers, don't forget, it's a vicious beast,

Behold The Smiling Face Of Gay Evil

Two LGBTQ Atlanta media stars, 33-year-old government worker William Dale Zulock Jr. and 35-year-old bank teller Zachary "Zack" Jacoby Zulock, adopted two young boys. So totally normal, right? Except that it wasn't.

Will and Zach raped, tortured and prostituted the children under their care until they were discovered by law enforcement, who broke down the door of their million dollar faux mansion and arrested them. Makes you wonder, readers, what goes on behind the walls of the real mansions. Don't say Rothschild.

Regardless, Will and Zach are in max security solitary confinement now and you can read all about it here. I won't post the detail, it's too hideous, but Via Townhall:

Nestled within a suburban paradise, the Zulock mansion turned-"house of horrors" had surveillance cameras installed in "every square foot" of the property, the family member told Townhall. There was also a "secret," windowless room the size of a closet without any doors hidden behind a moveable bookcase in the home office that the cops left open, which felt like something out of "a horror movie," the relative said. Another "creepy" interior room devoid of windows was purportedly used as a "home theater."

LGBTQ-pride paraphernalia littered the family's extravagantly furnished four-bedroom, five-bathroom house (plus a packed three-car garage), including a rainbow Mickey Mouse stuffed animal placed atop a "Love Above All" pillow on the foyer's loveseat, where Zachary was swarmed by the SWAT team, and a neon "Love is Love" sign that adorned the kitchen's granite countertop.

The lamp's pro-inclusivity phrase—a mainstream LGBTQ mantra that self-styled "minor-attracted persons" (MAPs) have co-opted in a rebranding campaign that attempts to normalize sexual attraction to children—is one Zachary frequently promoted online.

Will and Zack have been indicted by a "grand jury on charges of incest, aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, felony sexual exploitation of children, and felony prostitution of a minor." Both degenerate, satanist deviants face multiple life sentences for their abominable crimes.

you sick, evil, demonic fcks

They show no remorse whatsoever. In fact, they're worried they won't make payment on their revolting suburban mansion. How did a bank teller and a low-level civil servant afford a million dollar home, complete with pedo torture rooms? Good question.

As is, what are the homosexual/pedophile stats?

People Of The Lie

Do you remember Scott Peck's excellent book, People of the Lie? It caused a stir at the time because here was an actual psychologist, #science, writing that not only were some people evil but also possessed by demons.

Full of pride, these malefactors hide their malignancy under a web of endless lies and refuse any admission of wrongdoing, projecting their own failings and corruption of spirit on their innocent victim scapegoats.

Now, Satan is the Father of Lies, and here's a definition:

Artificial, contrived, insincere, pretend, made-up, manufactured, put on, fake, synthetic, simulated, imitation, unnatural, hollow, counterfeit, forged, phony, bogus, sham, facsimile, forgery, fraud, not real but "an act," fictitious, made-up, make-believe, put-on, untrue, incorrect, wrong, dishonest, fabricated, deceitful, insincere, misleading, erroneous, fallacious, deceptive, perjuring yourself, fib, propaganda, tale, fiction, illusion, invention, fantasy, unrealism, imaginary, delusion, figment, hallucination, ruse, con.

I leave you, the reader, to draw your own conclusion but remember, the very same people who wrote an open letter in October 2020 suggesting 45 was a Russian spy, also support our ascendant orthodoxy which says men can be women.

You'll recall Baphomet's trans.

A Monday Shoot

It's a beautiful balmy morning in Texas, so what do you do? Retrieve a couple of rimfires from the bottom of the lake and go to the range. Would they work, for that matter would I still know how to shoot?

Two excellent questions, but first up, stop at McDonald's for two cheeseburgers, it's a range tradition, and I was astonished to see they'd gone down in price by 50 cents per psuedo-burger. Jubilate, perhaps this was an omen.

A short drive through the North Central Texas Exclusion Zone (NCTEZ) and there it was, the range, pretty much unchanged after all these years and full of memories of kids, friends, guns and big fun under Texan skies. Reverie over, I set up at the shooting house bench and tested a Ruger American .22 LR.

Mirabile dictu (enough Latin, Ed.), it worked, snapping shotgun shells off a swinging plate frame, knocking back mini steel plates and punching holes in paper like a veritable, ahem, blunderbuss. So that was all good and a vindication of very minor smithery on my part.

You see, my ancient Ruger magazines had reached the point where they no longer fed consistently, so I took the wretched beasts apart, tightened their springs and hoped for the best. Lo and behold, they worked, as did the rifle and its cheap 4 power scope. Result.

Next up, a Marlin .22 WMR with an annoyingly stiff, heavy, branchlike trigger. How did that perform? Not well at all, in fact hardly on paper, which was annoying because the miserable offender had been right in the X Ring last time I shot it, an aeon ago.

Maybe this rubbish ChiCom scope's busted, I thought grimly to myself as I calculated inches off target and 1/4 MOA clicks. You see, a bad workman blames his tools, but the tools ended up proving their worth and within a few clicks the Marlin was on and slamming mighty .22 Mag rounds into mini steels and all was well with the world.

I tell you, what a fun round, go .22 WMR. Is it better than .17 HMR? I don't know, but I'd hazard a dam sight less blowy. And Marlin, please sort out the ridiculously heavy trigger your otherwise excellent weapon comes equipped with. And perhaps they have, my rifle's a bit old.

Guns on, mission accomplished, it was time to head back to the Compound and cook up a rack of ribs in celebration. They're in the oven now.

Shoot straight,

UK Tank Fleet

The UK presently has 227 Challenger II tanks and will soon have less. 148 of the current tank fleet will be upgraded to Challenger IIIs, with improvements to powerplant, gun, communications and targeting; a vaunted "digitization of the turret" will allow "us to deliver immense warfighting capabilities in battlespaces filled with a range of enemy threats".

So says UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace, and perhaps he's right, we'll wait and see if these produced in Shropshire Rheinmetall engines of war produce the goods, all 148 of them. Pause for a moment and ask yourself if appx. halving the UKLF's tank fleet will "deliver immense warfighting capabilitities."

I'd argue no, it won't. This tiny hi-tech, complex, opposite of mass-producible force wouldn't last long on the battlefield and couldn't be replaced quickly enough to make up for inevitable losses. The Germans, when you think on it, had similar issues in WWII viz a vis the Tiger and Soviet T34s.

Immense warfighting capabilities? Or a so-called Conservative UKGOV gaslighting the nation on its defense while they continue to cut actual fighting strength to save money. Hey, all that welfare ain't cheap and odds on, we'll never have to fight another major conventional war again, ever. Right.

Look, moneylaundering variant

Odds on? I'll leave you to throw the dice, and Guinea on everyone's favorite monkey that Whitehall's cost cutting mandarins have backed the wrong dog. But that's as maybe.

In the meanwhile, the UK's sending 14 of its 1998 vintage Challenger IIs to the Ukraine. Rishi Sunak's also sending 30 self-propelled guns to Zelensky. By way of context, the UK has 89 of these tracked howitzers.

Make of this what you will,

A Short Sunday Sermon

"Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world," says John the Baptist of Christ. And so he is, the true Paschal Lamb, the definitive savior of God's people, whose blood shed on the cross in sinless sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin opens the gates of heaven to all who put their faith in him. Here indeed is a light to the nations who extends salvation to the ends of the earth.

Yes, the mystery of the cross and resurrection prefigured in the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan is now stated, but John doesn't stop there. The next day we see him standing with two of his disciples and as Jesus approaches he salutes him again, "Behold the Lamb of God!" The disciples then follow Jesus who turns to them and asks, "What seek ye?" They reply, "Where dwellest thou?" And he invites them to "come and see." They do, and stay with him that day. (Jn 1: 29-41)

Christ asks the same question of us, "What seek ye?" what are you after, what do you want? There's only one true answer, the soul finds no peace until it rests in the beatitude of God and this forces another question, where is he, the Paschal Lamb, to be found, where does he live?

Upon his throne of glory in heaven, for sure, and on earth? In his living Word, in the most holy Sacrament of the Altar and in the hearts of his faithful people. He lives in his body the Church, in which we find union with his sacrifice, the forgiveness of sins and a share in his risen life.

Be strong in that and confess with John's disciples, "We have found the Messiah."

Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that thy people, illumined by thy Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ’s glory, that he may be known, worshiped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee and the Holy Spirit liveth and reigneth, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

God bless,

Imagine

Imagine if a vaccine you gladly took to give you immunity to a disease with a what, 0.01% fatality rate, didn't actually give you immunity to the not-so-deadly disease. And you justified this in your mind because Science. Smart or what.

Which fabled cleverness told you, yes, you can get the disease even though you're vaxxed, but it won't be fatal. Because vax immunity isn't a vax but it is a vax and the vaxxed will live and somehow protect other vaxxed people, because Science.

Weird, isn't it, how scientific goal posts keep changing on this, to say nothing of what spike proteins do to your body. Whatever.

And right, it's all academic and pub friendly until your kid or your pal gets myocarditis or a stroke from the universal salvation vax. Then maybe you start to wonder. I mean as if, Big Pharma putting profit before people?

Surely not and how totally absurd. Perhaps you've forgotten Thalidomide in your rush to embrace Government and its lab coated satrapy as your friend.

Stay safe,

It's A Gas

Have you heard of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)? Sure you have, they're the ones fixing to regulate gas stoves out of existence. Why? Because Science, obvs. Gas stoves, punters, are really harmful unless they're really taxed. Not unlike the Weather, when you think on it.

The until now unknown CPSC is headed up by Richard Trumka Jr., son of Richard Trumka, an illustrious union lawyer. Trumka Sr., advocate of the working man, died with a nifty socialist net worth of $6 million.

Nice money if you can make it and it probably helped with Junior's Cornell and Georgetown Law School fees. Who knows, it might even have propelled him to power in the hitherto unknown CPSC. Whatever the case, as of Thursday, Trumka the Younger was all about sorting out the gas stove scourge.

"All options are on the table," said li'l Trumpka to the benighted Bloomberg on Thursday, after Democrat lawmakers including AOC petitioned him to rid the nation of gas stove evil. Get rid of it, they argued, regulate it to death so that we can live, because Science. No more gas stoves for you, you 76 million polluters of your home environment.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, namesake of the illustrious conqueror of Mexico, is a fan of gas stoves and uses one in her ritzy rental. La Malinche was swift to defend zhirself:

Science evolves and gives us new knowledge with time. There is very concerning science about some of the emissions from gas stoves, especially around the cognitive development of young children, asthma, cancer, etcetera.

This is about a decision about what may be sold and regulations in the far future, OK? So everyone, just take the temperature down a little bit. No secret government agency is going to bust down your door and take your gas stove away.

No secret government agency is going to bust down your door. Quite. The repellent and beastly CPSC has backed down from its inane MillSoc threat to take our gas stoves away, and I'll be honest, I want one, always have. They're just better to cook on and now I want one even more.

Come and bake it,

What's with all the blackface going on these days? Like we're living in some kind of postwar musical? Good Lord, we've got Justine Trudeau masquerading as a Moor. Kyrie Eleison, why?

And Rachel Dolezal. Black as the Ace of Spades, except she isn't.

Now this. Nibiiwakamigkwe, real name Kay LeClair, has been running around presenting zhirself as an American Indian, a queer one no less. Quite the Rainbow Hiawatha, but the problem is Kay's white, she's no more "indigenous peoples" than I am.

But what am I saying. My Great Grandfather was part Cherokee, Oklahoma, and looked it too. He blamed everything on the Communists and loved Hal Lindsey's Late Great Planet Earth. He was surely right on the former if wrong in the latter.
