I know this is old, but some things need repeating. The words "errant foolishness" spring to mind, and just in case you're a glutton for punishment, here's another.
Many people I know who attend church, do it for the "entertainment value". The sermons are carefully crafted to dance around sin and the music makes you want to tap your foot.
I have a different opinion, but don't often express it.
Oh my goodness. That was horrifying. That is not the proper form of the Liturgy, or Mass that is appropriate within the Catholic Church. This is not the type of Mass that I attend on Sundays.
Parson, we're already rattled enough with the seemingly unending pedo drama playing out (repeating in my mind: sleazy practitioners do not invalidate transcendental truths) and now this.
Whatever works for these people works I'd imagine, it sure doesn't do a thing for me. Now to sound like a true social worker, at least these people are in a church vs. being out in the world committing crimes or doing something nasty.
Have a great week LSP and thank you for the differing views on the whole church concept.
It's not just Catholic Churches: I went to a Presbyterian Church (PCUSA, of course), that I otherwise liked, except that they had an interpretive dance during the service. It is just kinda weird and awkward in my opinion.
But then, there's, 1 Corinthians 10:23-33. I guess what works for one congregation doesn't have to work for another.
Yeah, but then if you ever have a visitor to your church, you also shouldn't be antagonizing them. There are probably lines that should be drawn, even if "all things are permissible."

I will be reposting with a linkback.
LL - nothing quite like liturgical tap-dancing. Sometimes silence is the best option...
Teresa - you'll forgive me for disturbing your Sunday! I hope you get to go to the Latin Mass - I prefer it as a rule.
God bless.

Was Father Pfleger involved?

It'd be interesting to find a Pfleger dance instance, Silverfiddle... I'll second your truth point.
Nicely irenic comment, Bluesun!

For sure, Bluesun.
God bless.
