Boy With Fish
Elements of USARMY were asking, tragically, plaintively, "What shall we do?" Quick as a flash Command issued orders, "Go fishing." And so they did, putting rods and tackle into a Chevy Z71 which headed for the lake in search of fish.
Boy With Fish
Were they successful? Sure they were, fishing with light rods, circle hooks, frozen Shad and catching Gar, Flathead, young Striper and Black Drum. Well done, boys.
Your Old Pal
Senior officers, on the other hand, stayed home, sorting out the admin of this irregular unit. Yes, this must change, we pride ourselves on leading from the front.
Fish On,
LSP
Happy Father's Day, Parson!
ReplyDeleteYep, the young 'uns did well...
Congratulations to them, Parson. And Happy Father's Day to you.
ReplyDeleteYou all be safe and God bless.
Alas, command can be lonely at the top. Duty and all that.
ReplyDeleteThey would have caught more fish if you had been there to do the Sea of Galilee move...but they'd have needed nets ----and a boat----- to do it right. I'm not telling you to buy a boat, but I'm not suggesting that you refrain from the purchase.
ReplyDeleteIf times get hard, the Army can fish with hand grenades. That's the best way to multiply the fishes. You're on your own with the loaves.
Good fatherhood from good leadership.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you, drjim! And yes, well done boys. Must get out there myself.
ReplyDeleteBless you, Linda!
ReplyDeleteYes, WSF, no one ever said it'd be easy.
ReplyDeleteDammit, LL, you've raised the BOAT issue. Some say it doesn't make sense, others disagree. Why not compromise and get an LCS? Just park it there in the middle of the lake and take control.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ed. Happy Father's Day.
ReplyDeleteBrandon will be surplussing the LCS fleet to Venezuela soon and they'll be on sale down there right quick, if you can find the right Commie admiral to bribe. Shouldn't be too hard. I should imagine that transportation from the port of Corpus Christi or Houston will be the most expensive part but don't let that stop ya.
ReplyDeleteWild, I was thinking just that. Then park the beast in the middle of the lake and take CONTROL. Doesn't have to go anywhere and the one little gun should do the trick.
