Thank God For The Paras

Reports are coming in that the UK's 2 Para have been running patrols into Kabul to save British citizens left behind by the US surrender of Afghanistan and its capital city to the Taliban. Scandalously, it's alleged that US command on the ground, to say nothing of its hide-away leader, Puppet Prez Biden, haven't communicated with their allies, despite thousands of Americans being stranded in a country overrun with Islamist fanatics. Via Alex Wickham:

Well, thank God for the Paras and you know the 82nd Airborne would be in there right away, if it wasn't for someone forbidding them from fighting the enemy. Some say that's the story of our Afghan adventure over the last two decades, and what does it mean?

At least this. A political class getting rich off of de facto, and cheap, mercenaries who they couldn't give a dam for, as long their lives make them moar money and moar power. What an utter betrayal of our young men and women who signed up to serve our country. Patriots in the service of self-serving traitors.

To say nothing of our friends in Afghanistan who can look forward to being hunted down, tortured and executed by our enemies. Enemies led by the very same people Barack Obama let free from jail. I tell you, I am beyond disgusted. I'd imagine 82 Airborne isn't too happy either.

In the meanwhile, the most powerful military force in the history of the world has no plan to deal with cave-dwelling, head-chopping, medieval savages, and we have to ask, is this deliberate? In the meanwhile, thank God for the Paras.

Your Old Pal,

LSP

  1. "... and we have to ask, is this deliberate?" Yes, we do.

  3. The folks currently in charge have a history of leaving our own hanging out there. Just ask the folks that made it past Benghazi.

  4. I hope 'world leaders' are crying and sorry they treated Trump so badly.

  5. Hungary got 26 of its people out and is sending more aircraft to Kabul. The foreign ministry yesterday said planning is difficult because "half the world" has aircraft in Afghan air space, as countries work to get their people out. Biden had the bust of Churchill removed from the oval office after Trump returned the statue after Obama removed it. Hail Britannia.

  6. As posted in other places, and what I will continue to post, is Xiben and cohorts will be paying ransom for months ahead for our citizens under the euphemism, "Humanitarian Aid". What a gravy train for the well connected.

  7. I keep wondering when this balloon is going to pop.

Will the ChiComs come to our "rescue" after the Moron-In-Charge and his cohorts run the economy into the ground?

Reminds me of the remake of "Red Dawn" before they changed it from the ChiComs to the Norks.....

  12. WSF, some would say cynical, others realist. I vote latter.

  13. "I keep wondering when this balloon is going to pop."

When it does, drjim, great will be the fall of it. I'd argue we're at the foothills of the collapse.

  14. +1 to Jim, WSF and drjim. I would have to add Viet Nam to Benghazi. Shameful.

  17. As a fellow Brit, Mr. BadFrog, I have to say I agree.

And let's get down to it, who's responsible for effectively destroying the British Military, eviscerating it, including my old regiment? Well, that'd be New Labour and their croos the aisle friends in the Tory party.

I tell you, I am more than aghast.

    Forgive mini rant.
