No Bishop No King

No, No, No

People wonder about the politics of this "site". Some think that LSP's Putinist. Others think it's Falangist and others again Stalinist Liberal, or even GOP.

Yes, Yes, Yes

No. I'm tempted towards Lockean Liberalism, but with the caveat that the "the Devil was the first Whig" I have to say I'm interested in Monarchy.

Result

It's Biblical and it's awesome. "Awesome!?" you say. I'd have thought that was obvious.

Vivat.

  1. Huh. So you're accused by fascists of being fascist. OK, then.

  2. I guess. People think the strangest things.

    All best for Advent.

  3. I'd say, judging from history, monarchies have been a great stabilizing force, especially compared with the recent "democracies" and republics. Sadly, the only way I know of to see how North America would be with the monarchy still in power (short of building a time machine) is reading Harry Turtledove's The Two Georges.

  4. Of course we could always turn our President into a kind of emperor, Mattexian.

Maybe not such a good idea after all...

  7. You might well have a point, D&EC...

    Long live the Queen.

  8. You're into horses and guns, so you are obviously not a liberal or a space alien.

I too favor classical liberalism, which is the exact opposite of todays "liberalism" so-called.

I think Hayek, when asked said he was closest to being a Whig if someone were to press him.

  9. Interesting Hayek reference, Silverfiddle. He described himself as an "old Whig" apparently.

To be sure, I have an awful lot to read and am continually spurred on by several political philosophy profs at one of the missions.

That aside, I want to see less secular state leviathan and more freedom. I'd say that translates into a much smaller "White House."

But since when were the people who worked so hard to get power over us inclined to vote themselves out of it?

  10. Well Texas could of course join the Commonwealth. We Brits know fifty years in advance who the next Head of State will be, no Billion Dollar elections nonsense for us.

  11. Good suggestion, Anon. But maybe Texas should just declare UDI and set up with a King -- but not our boy Rick Perry, I, er, think.

  12. Interesting concept that monarchy. But as an American I'll pass.

Besides, you've got it wrong. Satan wasn't a Whig, he was a socialist.

  13. Satan? Socialist? Oh yes. But I see, Infidel, that you're not a monarchist.

Ponder this. What if Kate Middleton [sic] became our Queen? Not so bad, eh. She could have Canada too. Doubleplus awesome.

  14. Canada? Our mortal enemy.....eh

Kate Middleton? Damn you LSP. You know my weakness.

  15. Sorry Infidel. Had to play a trump card.

  16. Does Trump get everywhere...is there no respite from his blasted hair and Golf courses?

  17. We can't escape Trump, Lukeya. He's ubiquitous.
