Rule Britannia

Support the EDL?
I haven't paid a huge amount of attention to the Royal Wedding because I've been busy shooting and riding - but I wish them well.

Texas
The Bishop of London, who is an enemy of same sex blessings (SSBs), wimmin priests, liturgical dance, clown 'Masses' and suchlike nonsense, had this to say,

"Faithful and committed relationships offer a door into the mystery of spiritual life in which we discover this: the more we give of self, the richer we become in soul; the more we go beyond ourselves in love, the more we become our true selves and our spiritual beauty is more fully revealed. In marriage we are seeking to bring one another into fuller life."

I like that and think it's true.

Happy (late) Easter,

  3. As I'm sure you know, the bible is full of lessons like this. The best scripture to add to this would be to "esteem others higher than yourself". It is amazing how many relationships can be fixed by just doing that.

  4. Not sure I think the EDL are quite in the spirit of the Royal Wedding LSP, since quite a goodly number of them are in fact jackbooted arm raisers...ahem.

  5. Thanks Silverfiddle - a rare thing to find myself agreeing with an Anglican bishop. Happy, belated, Easter!

Glad you liked it, Teresa - I must work to put more positive messages in this blog - but the bad stuff does have a perverse entertainment value...

Thanks for the comment SoP - the "esteem" point's a good one. Easier to say than do, of course.

Ah, Lukeya. I know what you mean - the EDL does seem a bit BNPish; but then again, I have it on the highest Aldgate East authority that they are, in fact, alright.

Still, in fairness to my source, perhaps Millwall affiliation has skewed the vision? I'll put a question mark on my link.

    Happy Eastertide to you all,

    LSP
