See you on the other side.

Good question, what's it like in this Free State. Well, I'll tell you. It's baking hot and we haven't had any rain for months. I'll be candid, going outside is like walking into a pre-heating oven. And that'd be fine, it happens every year, but this time it's amplified by NO SKYWATER. Literally, no rain for months. What does this mean?
Clearly HAARP is working against us. Black Hats. Chem Trail White Hats? Ineffective, obviously. Net result? We swelter and pray for rain. Seriously, I remember pulling into Brookshires supermarket car park 15 years ago or so and... it began to rain, big time. One guy got off of his rig, took off his shirt, raised his arms and stood there in a kind of ecstasy.
Maybe you think I'm inventing that, no, I am not. Man, what relief. Here, check this out by way of Welsh reference:
Now, if you live in Aberystwyth all this may seem weird or even counter-intuitive. Yep, I get that. But withhold judgement lest ye too be judged. Oh, sorry! You already are, with endless Climate Change, aka "rain." Please send some our way.
Ginger Baker. Give that man a DLC promotion; he was a horseman, in case you scoff. Was Hawkwind his send-off? Perhaps, Levitation forever.

Well, at least the back deck of the Compound. Boots, don't you think, are a bit like guns, look after them and they'll look after you. To that end, I apply Mink Oil on these old High Tory Ariats and so should you, it keeps them supple and waterproof.
Of course you might prefer to bull your boots, like a Guardsman, and that has it's own mirror bright satisfaction too. Not as practical though, unless you're on a parade square in Whitehall. That in mind, we're still at war with Iran, you may have noticed, which leaves EL SENOR, our famously anti-war president, in a bit of a conundrum.
Either he wins this war decisively, which surely means boots on the ground in great numbers, or he withdraws in ignominy, like Biden in Afghanistan. You see the catch, punters, he can't do either, but perhaps I'm missing something? As in maybe a naval blockade will work.
Feel free to chime in and, in the meanwhile, here's a photo of the Reform Club. Imagine all those Club Table pundits chewing on this knotty FORPOL puzzle over a lengthy lunch, vaguely terrifying.
As always, your Pal,

Good work, Mullally, whose professional qualifications for being the leaderene of the Church of England = middle management HR nurse. How apt, and if you're inclined to be clever, you might say that the risible Mullally is an outward and visible sign of the Church of England's inward decay.
That in mind, Mountebank Mullally has rescinded her endorsement of Jihad and we have to wonder, who put zhir up for that? For God's sake, the COE is beyond parody at this point. Will faithful people, led by their pastors, rise up and seize the moment? They should and must, that moment's upon us.
Kizmet,
Well have a look at this, a fake Archbishop of Canterbury's awarded a fake Anglican medal award to a couple of Moslems who hate Christianity, all in the name of "interfaith dialogue." What is it about interfaith dialogue with Moslems do you not get, Sarah?
Maybe all of it. Islamic interfaith dialogue = cutting the heads off unbelievers and conquering them, see the Eastern Roman Empire. Sarah's interfaith dialogue = pretending all religions are the same in our nursing quest to Rainbow Utopia.
They think, you see, that if we welcome, meet, and befriend the Other they'll come together like a Beatles' song and everything will be peace on earth, not unlike a 1990s beauty pageant. Then reality hits. All these third world Moslem savages are running around raping your daughters, wrecking your already wrecked streets and getting Akbar about it.
You know what I mean. Problem. Solution. Apart from cutting off welfare for imported votes, which ain't gonna happen, return to the Faith. If that occurs then there's a ground to stand on. As it is, English/Euro secularism is being replaced by Islam. Well, any gas will a vacuum.
That in mind, Islam isn't the Religion of Peace, it's the religion of war since its conception. Maybe we need to face up to that, contra big pants diversity hire Mullally. In the meanwhile, the Church of England's a pathetic satire of itself, in case you wondered.
Your Pal,

You know what it's like, a cup of strong covefe, dogs fed, Morning Prayer said, 1928 thank you very much, and the house asks, "What shall we do with the rest of this heat-stricken morning?" Answer, "Let's head to the lake and take the dogs."
A few minutes later and there it was, Lake Whitney in all its dammed up glory. Seriously, a tranquil scene, and the dogs loved it, splashing and paddling around while I tried to catch fish with a topwater lure. Big fun for one and all, and it'd have been more fun if a ferocious bass had struck my fake plastic floating shad with famously piscine fury, but that didn't happen.
Instead, the dogs got a good bath, the lake remained tranquil and my eyelids started to sweat, so we packed up and headed back to the Compound and the comparative safety of this North Central Texan bucolic haven. Good result, apart from catching any fish, which didn't happen, but that wasn't the point; the dogs had a massively fun day at the water and slept accordingly on the way back. Good pups.
The Pit/Lab(?) cross is my eldest's, and I'm looking after her while he reclasses to be a Forward Observer. I asked him, "I say, son, does that mean you're going artillery?" He replied that it did. "So then, d'ye have to go to AIT again and learn how to put shells in guns?"
No, he replied, "It's more air assault and sending the coordinates back." I got that, "Right on, air assaulty, are you fit for it?" He thought that he was, good for Hood, average for Bragg, and fair play to him. So, say a prayer for the kid's next evolution, he's come a long way.
Cheers and Fish on,
LSP
In a spirit of love, mercy and compassion, send this traitorous mountebank "Islam is a religion of peace" fraud to gaol. The world's had enough of his malfeasant wickedness and now he has to go. It'd be good, wouldn't it, if at least one corrupt deep state operative were made to face justice in this world.
That is all,

Sir Roger Scruton, whom Acton Institute co-founder Rev. Robert Sirico once described as “perhaps the world’s leading conservative philosopher,” passed away from cancer Sunday at the age of 75. His profound intelligence probed every subject from aesthetics and sexuality to religion and the minutiae of governing.
For Marx, the interests that are advanced by an ideology are those of a ruling class. We might similarly suggest that the interests advanced by totalitarian ideology are those of an aspiring elite. And we might confront totalitarian ideology in Marxian spirit, by explaining it in terms of its social function, and thereby exploding its epistemological claims. It is not the truth of Marixsm that explains the willingness of intellectuals to believe it, but the power it confers on intellectuals, in their attempts to control the world. And since, as Swift says, it is futile to reason someone out of a thing that he was not reasoned into, we can conclude that Marxism owes its remarkable power to survive every criticism to the fact that it is not a truth-directed but a power-directed system of thought.
Scruton! Hard at work speaking truth to power, and again, “Intellectuals are naturally attracted by the idea of a planned society, in the belief that they will be in charge of it.” Well ain't that the truth.
Fun fact, Sir Roger Scruton was a smoker as well as an awesome philosopher and cleverly worked out a sizable retainer from Japan Tobacco International, you can read about it on the internet. Now I really like him.
All Hail Scruton,

In 1565, just over a decade from the conquest of Constantinople by the Moslem Turks, the Christian island of Malta was attacked by the Sea Jihad, arriving off the island's coast on 18 May with some 200 ships and perhaps 40,000 fighters. Malta was held by around 6,000 men, led by the Knights of Malta and their Grand Master Jean de Vallette.
Vastly outnumbered and outgunned, the Moslems had an enormous superiority in artillery, the Knights held out, not least at Fort St. Elmo. This brought time for a Christian relief force to arrive on the island on September 7. This multi-national Catholic army combined with the Knights proceeded to route the Islamic invaders, who reembarked and fled the scene.
It's estimated that over 30,000 Moslem invaders were killed during the siege and perhaps a third of the island's defenders. The remarkably heroic defense of Malta put to rest the myth of Ottoman invincibility and laid the foundation for the victorious sea battle of Lepanto, 6 years later.
Thanks to the extraordinary courage of Malta's Christian defenders and later Lepanto, the Jihad was stopped in the Mediterranean. But that was then. The Jihad's still very much alive today, though lacking military dominance, and instead of invading the West through force has been invited in by Quislings in search of cash and votes. Will our people, like the Maltese and their knights, stand up and be counted?
The vote's out,

Postscript: Many years ago, back when Great Britain still had a Navy but had withdrawn from Malta, I remember sitting at the Royal Malta Yacht Club, enjoying colonial style curry and looking out at the Grand Harbour, imagining the sound and fury of the siege. Heroic stuff.
After lunch, I wandered off onto the recently deserted Naval base above the club and marveled at the greatness that had been, the place was huge, at least to my juvenile eyes, and I think it's featured in a movie or two. Quite a thing, and the thought that Britain had abandoned it filled me with a kind of fury; why had we walked away from such greatness? It seemed me to at the age of 10, and still does, a kind of betrayal. What can I say?
Faith, Hope and Charity,

Many years ago I tried out as an Assistant Priest (AP) in London, in Tottenham, of all places. Of course I didn't want to go there and was, to be honest, talking to the local Roman authority. Regardless, I remember sitting in the Rector's office, and we got on very well, what a good man.
As we talked, I looked at the photos above his desk, and there was one of him in a desert driving a cut down Land Rover, wearing a keffiyeh and sporting a beard, complete with multiple GPMGs and all of that, clearly Oman. "I say," offered 25 year old Fr. LSP, "is that you?" Fr. X agreed that it was, and I replied, "Fr. X, desert warrior." He nodded, and that's exactly what he'd been before becoming a priest.
Think about that, an SAS officer working as a humble priest in Tottenham. Respect. Of course I was too young and full of it, ahem, to really get that, and I retreated into the ether; he went on to die, and I haven't forgotten that man who was so much more than I.
Stand strong for the Faith,

Christ tells Peter we must forgive our brother 70 x 7, a totality, and proceeds to tell a parable to that effect. He finishes, "So it will be for you if you do not forgive your brother from your heart." To put it bluntly, you go to hell if you have an unforgiving spirit or heart.
Does that sound somehow harsh? Hardly. Consider the qualities of an unforgiving spirit: Wrath, resentment, vengeance and everything that flows from that. Do these things make us happy? Demonstrably not. Do they add to our communion or fellowship with our fellow men? Errrr, no, they do not. Do they make us attractive? Now that's a hard one. No, they don't.
An unforgiving, vengeful heart is abhorrent to men, and all the more so to God who is in all simplicity mercy, love and compassion in Himself. The unforgiving person, the soul which nurtures hatred, revenge and grievance close to itself eventually becomes what it does. Net result? A soul diametrically opposed to God. There is no place in paradise for such an... entity.
So we must forgive and do so totally. Easy to say, right, but notoriously hard to do when we're stabbed in the back, the blood's flowing and we've been grievously hurt. When that happens we want to lash back in furious rage and destroy our enemy utterly. But hold on, stand by.
When we're tempted by such a demonic urge, and we all are, first consider the parable of the unforgiving steward. Who are we to wreak vengeance when so much has been forgiven, and then pray the Lord's Prayer, "Forgive us our trespasses and we forgive those who trespass against us." With that, ask God in prayer to grant us a merciful, loving, compassionate heart.
I tell you, all ye heathen, that he will grant this request and transform our hearts into the likeness of his own, such that when we meet him face to face he will recognize us as his own and welcome us into the heavenly kingdom.
Now, is all this about being somehow soft on sin? No, it's about fashioning our hearts after the heart of God, becoming like him. Therein lies sanctity, salvation, and the defeat of demons.
Deus Vult,
LSP
History isn't taught in schools anymore, it's called "Social Studies," so you may have missed one of the most important battles in Western history, the siege of Vienna, in which a war horde of some 200,000 Turks attacked the heart of the Holy Roman Empire, Vienna, defended by around 12,000 men.
All seemed lost, the Turkish horde on the point of victory, until Jan Sobieski of Poland arrived on the scene on September 12 with his winged hussars and smashed the Moslems, charging downhill on the Jihadic invaders with great fury. 18,000 horsemen, with Poland's famous Hussars in the van, fell on the Turks, who were routed, arguably the greatest cavalry charge in history. Tolkien, we're told, modelled the Ride of Rohirrim on it.
Mustafa Pasha, the Grand Vizier of the invading Moslem force, fell back to Hungary with ragged remnants of his his once proud army. He was executed by strangulation in Constantinople (?) in the December of his inglorious defeat.
Along with Lepanto, Malta and perhaps Poitiers, this battle and Sobieski's charge has shaped our lives. Why? That's simple, because of it we aren't Moslems. Maybe you disagree, but I'd say that's a very good thing, and you may remember Chesterton wrote a short book about it, the "Flying Inn."
Point of this rambling post? Simple. Hail Sobieski and Hail the Winged Hussars, and with that, stand up and be counted for your Faith because the invasion is upon us. Perhaps you doubt me; OK, just get on a plane and fly over to Whitechapel and its mosque.
Your Old Pal,
LSP
Dark clouds gathered overhead like rumours of war itself as lightning arced and cracked from the sky, followed all too soon by thunder, rumbling out like guns on the Oder. There was even a little rain, we call it "Skywater." How appropriate given the date, when Moslems decided to drive planes into New York and the Pentagon.
Lo and behold, we launched against several Islamic powers, all the while lying that Islam is a "religion of peace," which it obviously isn't, as even the most stupid schoolboy knows, and what did we achieve? Good question, and I won't cheapen the sacrifice of those who gave their lives by answering.
In the meanwhile, sandal wearing Moslem fanatics have blown up Saudi's oil pipeline circumventing Iran's control of Hormuz, which we've won control of at least three times. Not a good look for the mid terms, punters. I know, calmer heads prevail and say we've got this, but in the short term? Disastrous. No one, EL SENOR, voted for moar Mid East war, yet you did it, potentially wrecking the conservative cause all over the West.
One heckuvva gamble and I hope it pays off, I'd like to see the Mullahs gone and the Shah return. You know what they all say, "Wager the Monkey." Unlike me but I'll hold on that. In the meanwhile, never forget what evil, very evil people have done to us. Solution? Return to the Faith on which which everything right and decent is founded. Like no kidding, the storm is upon us, play your part.
Yours,
LSP
What's it all about? Good question. First order of business, get a haircut, hippie, and then? Well, everything seems a bit of a mess, to put it mildly. So here's my vastly sought after prescription:
The people who built the culture we live in, with all its values and achievements, and the ethical code we take for granted as somehow "given," isn't. No, the culture you take for granted comes from its cult, which is catholic Christianity.
No fooling. Get rid of that, which we've done, especially in Euro/Brit Rainbow Utopia, and the net result is cashing checks on our civilizational deposit without putting cash back in. Witness the abhorrent result, which is only beginning to rear its demonically hideous head. Abortion at birth anyone, and don't say Lindsay Clancy.
Is there a way out of this? I'd say the answer is clear. Return to the Faith which built our countries, land and way of life, our civilization. This is our bedrock, the foundation on which everything stands. Call it a Reconquista if you like, or a crusade, but however named it has to happen.
In the meanwhile, nooses up and down the Mall?
Your Old Pal,
LSP
Some people think the Blessed Ever Virgin Mary's a dead Roman Catholic or, even worse, a pagan idol. No, she's not, she's the Mother of God. Reflect on that. In the meanwhile, El Senor's honored the Empress of the Americas and Queen of Victories:
Can you imagine the loathsome, faked up, stilted, faux rhetorician Obama doing such a thing? Or Clinton, Bushx2, Biden and all the rest of them. No, of course you can't, it's unthinkable. Yet here we are and about time. An actual US President, perhaps the most important figurehead in the world, honoring the Virgin Mother of our Savior. Wow.
Keen-eyed observers of the perennial battle between good and evil will note that the Moslem siege of Malta was lifted on this day in 1565. Hail the Knights of Malta! Valiant knights! Brave defenders of Christendom, who drove the Sea Jihad away from their shores, and did so under the powerful protection of Our Lady, Queen of Victories. A mere 6 years later the Virgin would strike again, smashing a Jihadic fleet at Lepanto. Some of you will recall that she crushes the serpent under heel.
Do you think that the Mother of God herself, the very person who gave birth to the Savior, will abandon us, her son's faithful people? If so, think again.
Ave,
LSP
PS. By way of footnote on this intriguing post, I happen to know that a chaplain to the Knights of Malta is granted the rare privilege of being able to celebrate the Mass on the shield of a knight in the field of battle.
PPS. How would I, a lowly Texan parson, know such a thing? Well, there you have it. SMOM forever.
Have you noticed? Beto, some kind of faux Mex sandwich, Kassich, "I'll have a side of that, hold the mayo," and now Talarico. Yet another fast food cognomen. "Hey, two Betos, a Kassisch on the side and a Talerico, add salsa." Pause, "Is that all, sir?"
Horrifying, isn't it, and dear Lord, maybe the plan's all about distracting you from their mountebank level socialism; disregard that as you focus on their revolting fast food possibility. Something like that. But to what end? Beto, remember that fake Mex sammich? It failed trust fund dismally, οἴμοι, all that massive going to socialist waste! Oh well. Maybe the revolting Talarico's gonna do better.
Who knows, maybe he will, maybe an Italian deli brand in Austin or Bishop Arts Dallas cuts it, maybe so. But I doubt it, c'mon, Democrats, you gotta do better than this fake fast food rubbish if you want turn the state rainbow blue.
Always,
LSP
