Wow. The Canterbury Communion's led by Sarah Mullally. Just look at zhir, so inspiring. When you see those beguiling teeth you just leap over yourselves to go to zhir church. And so you should, because the COE won't be taken seriously unless it promotes wymxn and abortionists into its top ranks.
Seriously, we've been told this time and time again. Unless we ordain wymxn we won't be taken seriously and no one will go to church. Unless we marry two dudes we won't be taken seriously and no one will go to church. Unless we abort our children no one will take us seriously and go to church. Unless we explain away and disbelieve everything miraculous and supernatural from the Faith no one will take us seriously and go to church, and on and on and on.
So maybe you get the point. Unless we get with the disbelieving spirit of the age we won't have credibility in our disbelieving culture. So what's happened? The Faith, once delivered, has been swapped out by apostates for something they do, actually, believe. Cultural Marxism, bizarrely. And bizarre it is.
All the popularist moves of the Church from the '60s onwards to today, which were supposed to have filled the pews, have dismally, utterly, ignominiously failed. Why? Because two-bit Marxist IdentiPol masquerading as Christianity doesn't cut it for anyone unless you too, like them, don't actually believe.
Result? The Churches and denominations they've taken over will die, surely if perhaps unintendedly. We're seeing that now, congregations are tanking in mainstream LibChurch and no wonder, who wants to go to a church which reflects your disbelief and wickedness back at yourself? What an utter ship of fools.
On the other hand, those Churches which uphold the Faith once delivered will win and conquer. Yes, through the Cross, but conquer nonetheless. See the Latin Mass.
Here Endeth The Lesson,
LSP
Take the Church seriously?
ReplyDeleteThey've made it a laughingstock.
That they have, Ed. It's outrageous.
DeleteIt's a clown show. Will they install a steam calliope to play liturgical music?
ReplyDeleteSteam calliope? Good call, LL.
DeleteJust like the Catholics with Vatican 2 and the of all the Mysteries and Majesties of the Catholic Mass did nothing for Catholic attendance, well, seems the same with the CoE.
ReplyDeleteWant to see people flood the Church? Return to the Old Ways. Call an actual Crusade against Evil in England. Do that and the Churches will fill, both with people and with offerings.
Don't return to the Old Ways and the CoE is truly dead.
Women should not be priests in Christianity. There are plenty other ways to serve.
Exactly, Beans. I've always thought that, seriously.
DeleteJoshua 24:15, KJV (in part) - "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve"
ReplyDeleteZhir/Zhem (whatever) chose poorly.
They sure did, Wild, and continue to double down. Almost as though predestined, curiously.
DeletePaging Mr. Python, paging Mr. Python
ReplyDeleteRitchie, parody/satire ain't in it. They've gone beyond.
DeleteBut LSP, if zhe was married to a womyn and had non-binary progeny, the pews would be overflowing! We'd have to double the number of churches!
ReplyDeleteWell yes, Anon, there is that. Zhe's also against euthanasia, oddly. Another, ahem, black mark against zhir.
DeleteRitchie - it that a "Stielhandgranate" in the right hand and a soup pot in the other? Gotta fend off the facists and keep hyr priestesses fed!
ReplyDeleteSeamus, you have a point, and a good one.
DeleteCrusty Old TV Tech here. Speaking of Sir Monty de Python...the CoE is like a cheese shop with no cheese..."Wot, no Cheddar?"...it has become a Norwegian Blue, pining for the fjords! And how DARE you high-churchian crypto-Catholics want (gasp!) Latin and incense! Cue Teddington Locks and the Fish-Slapping Dance!
ReplyDeleteTech, I laughed. Speaking of which, once saw John Cleese walking out of the Wallace Collection in London... he's very tall.
DeleteI think they just sounded their death knell... sigh
ReplyDeleteBeen a while coming, Mr. NFO.
DeleteFSSP traditional Catholic Churches are overflowing. Many are building new churches, or adding Masses. The hierarchy in Rome and the archbishops choose to deny it, and try to squash it.
ReplyDeleteSouthern NH
I know, Anon. It's quite a thing. Me? When I visit London it's always Brompton Oratory -- Novus Ordo, Oriented, Latin, beautiful music, 1000+ congregation.
DeleteMost compelling. Wider Church? Take note.
I almost threw up in my mouth. You can see it in those nasty eyes that she worships the devil. How much more buffoonery will England endure before it all turns to dust and blows away?
ReplyDeleteOur FSSP parish in North Idaho is crammed to the brim for FIVE Masses on every Sunday. That's approximately 2K peeps...
