  1. Bah. I despise Workers of the World day.

Didn't mind the day off, just hated how it came about.

    1. But Beans, we all love the Dead, surely.

    2. Don't love the Dead, don't hate them, just they're 'meh' in my book. Better bands, better singers, better songs out there to listen to.

That may be a contentious point, but I'll also firmly stand my ground. I don't mind their music because, for the most part, they aren't in my mind.

      Here's more music heresy.

The Doors and Jim Morrison suck donkey juevos. They had one good song. One. That's it.

Bob Dylan may have been an excellent writer, but his whiney nasally whiney voice also sucks donkey juevos. Fie on him. Would not piss on him if he was on fire.

Bruce Springsteen, another sucks donkey juevos. Hate the dude, hate his voice, hate his music. He can go away.

None of them stand up to the clean pure sounds of Karen Carpenter. So there.

People forget that Merle Haggard could play guitar much better than just fair when he wanted to. As one of the commenters said, it don't get more Bakersfield than playing a solo with a cigarette stuck between your fingers.

    1. I understand Merle briefly played guitar in Buck Owens' band before he hit it big. He was also a decent fiddler.

    2. Yes, sir. Haggard did indeed play fiddle on a few songs on the last Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys recording, For the Last Time. Considering the other talent on that album, that's saying something.

    4. Mr Wild, you know your stuff and wear it lightly. I applaud that.

  3. Working Man's Dead and American Beauty have always been my two favorite Dead albums.
