Pause for a moment and consider the significance. The DHS, right there in the belly of the beast, from the heart of USGOV, urging us to pray without ceasing. Reflect on that, ponder it, what a reversal and unthinkable here up until now. A seismic shift. Europe and the Anglosphere, what was once Christendom, might want to sit up and take notice. Change is apparently coming. You know it's happened before, heathen Rome became Christian.
Dear readers, did you know that demons flee before prayer?
Non Draco Sit Mihi Lux,
LSP
Benedict! Ora et labora. Thanks LSP!
ReplyDeleteSeamus, Benedict was and is a HERO of the Faith. Did you know he set up in the ruins of one of Nero's country palace villas? Well he did, the irony, and we have to ask -- who owned the deeds to it? Had they somehow fallen into abeyance given the breakdown of central imperial government or were they owned by his wider family, the illustrious, senatorial Gens Anicii?
DeleteI don't know, but find it, and late antiquity, fascinating.
I think that we might better heed the Apostle's warning that Satan can appear as angel of light.
ReplyDeleteI can't argue with that, Night Wind, and won't.
DeleteThis from the DHS, wow. From being one of the creatures of darkness to posting "Pray without ceasing." I wonder what the statistics on ER admissions for heart attacks amongst socialists in the DC are right now?
ReplyDeleteWe once were a Christian nation. We became a National Socialist nation. And now we are becoming Christian again. Thank God.
Anyone who wants to debate me about us being National Socialist, well, first think about anything you can do without indirect or direct government interference. How's your brand-new gas can, hmmm? How's your brand A/C that has refrigerant that is explosive, hmmm? Who owns the air above your house and the ground under your feed and what happens to you when you don't pay property taxes, hmmm? Were you able to pray in a Christian or Jewish House of God during the Covidiocracy, hmmm? National Socialism is government control of all aspects or your life through indirect means, like regulations on the people who make and supply everything, on how you pray, how you educate and, well, even how you can flush your toilet.
“We became a National Socialist nation.”
DeleteNo, Beans. No. If we HAD become “Nazi” then we wouldn’t have at least 50% of the problems we have today. I’m not talking actual German NatSoc, I’m talking the fictionalized version (hence the quotes) that it’s literally illegal to question in about 19 countries.
As for Covid times: We let the safety-firsters, the yentas (Jewish or not, the personality type), the nosy noodges, the weak and resentful men, take over on the surface. Underneath it, vulture finance capitalists who have no loyalty to nation or faith. Because atomized individuals, which is what we’ve become as a society, delusionally imaging themselves to be “strong and independent thinkers” are FAR easier to control.
I get it. I tend to think that way myself (which makes me a terrible Chinaman, a mutant). I also think that individuality is a cornerstone of the ethos that created the best nations to live in, but it’s gone too far. In this current world it’s maladaptive. We need to re-learn the primacy of Family, bloodkin, and Folk. If those are to be overlaid and reinforced by united faith, then so be it. But without those, our nation, our civilization, will not survive.
I echo you, Beans, wow.

DeleteI agree, MC, and would argue that a united faith, a truly catholic christendom, is key.
I had to look that one up. OK, in truth, I pretty much have to look any and all Latin up to know what it says. "Let Not the Devil be My Guide." Very good. That St. Benedict was a righteous dude. Get thee behind me, Satan. Now.
ReplyDeleteDear Wild, I totally get that. Google translator or whatever is most helpful, and Benedict's Latin is interestingly different from, say, Caesar or Cicero.
DeleteThat in mind, Satan hates Latin, so the exorcists say. Big Band Family Fun Rock/Pop praise bands? Not so much
Crusty Old TV Tech here. Festivus Dies Laborum (Mrs Houchin is getting ready to Scold Mightily!). I have heard that Satan and the demons hate Latin as an English schoolboy does. Never having been an English schoolboy, I can't confirm the latter clause. However, being a Southern schoolboy at one point, I can comment on education and love of your State. One of the sad outcomes of the 1865 Unpleasantness (to style it as my old maid aunt did) was to diminish loyalty to State, and to forge an unhealthy reverence for things Federal. In my days as a schoolboy (long, long ago!), we were taught the history of Louisiana as it was, not as the Great Society boot lickers would have it taught later on. A balanced civics lesson. It appears every year since, the curricula for "civics" education has lurched ever more left. The inevitable result is a more obedient, less educated populace, and one less likely to see their neighbor as a comrade (in the Christian meaning) in the fight against demonic communism. Atomized society indeed. First, sever ties to State, then to People, then Family, then the one true Catholic faith, and you end up where we are, now.
ReplyDeleteAs my father used to say "Illigetimi non Carborundum!"
