Let's Calm Down Kids

Wow, what a news cycle, tumultuous, eh? And unrelenting, as though we're accelerating into some new evolution. Perhaps, and let's hope it's a good one. Whatever, calm right down, take a deep breath and enjoy Stardust.

I remember my parents slow dancing to it in Dallas in the '70s when the album came out and everything seemed better. Of course I was a child at the time and everything was magical. It is in my mind today.

Then there's "Kier" Starmer and the Worldwide Anglican Non Communion (WANC). Sorry! Don't get all riled up! No, dear friends, just relax and enjoy Stardust.

  2. Now that is an interesting collection of articles. Here's a quote from one of them, not sure if it's the one yer Reverendship is referencing, but:

"Furthermore, only one per cent of churches in America are doing evangelism. And you wonder why churches are going out of business."

I can assure you - perhaps a word that also conveys a sense of shame would be more appropriate than "assure" - that the same sorry state exists over on the Protestant side of the divide as well. Dancing our deck chairs around the bonfire of our vanities to the dulcet tunes of Super-Fun Rock-Band Church, we are. I don't hold with it.

    1. Very good call, Wild.

You know, I went through a charismatic/revival phase some years back and it wasn't bad, though very much of it's time.

There's a quiet power in the old liturgy done well which no amount of big band Super-Fun-Rock can even hope to emulate. I know this.

I wish, on topic, that my little missions had beautiful 4 part plainsong choirs, singing the ancient music of the Western Rite/Christendom. Such power! People would travel in from miles around.

Well, Rome wasn't built in a day. So!
