God, Guns, Church & Country Life in Texas & Anything Else I Care to Think of.
This isn't a military blog, far from it, more of a family thing, but all hail the Phantom. Just a shot away? You be the judge.
What a plane.
Your Buddy,
LSP
Peace through superior firepower.
Proof you can make a brick fly with enough power.
And then came the F-14, F-15 and F-16, and everything changed. We have the mad major John Boyd to thank for some of that.
The look and sound of freedom.
Not a big Stones fan but it works well with the F-4. It amazing the development of aircraft from the late 40's to the early 60's.
Right on, LL.
WSF, I always think "'70s" when I think F4. I know, that's not entirely accurate, but I just do.
Wild, Boyd was remarkable. Would he be allowed today? I very much doubt it.I think I'll post an obit by way of a sermon. Thanks for that.
I was thinking the very same thing, Bad Frog, a bit like the FNFAL
It's quite a thing, DOS, and I'm mostly with you on the Stones. Saying that, there's times when they seem right for the mood at hand.
Boyd, Mr OODA Loop…and The Higher Ups refused to promote him because he wouldn’t play the political game. Maybe why in Maverick he’s still a Major, a nod possibly?
Good call, Paul.
