Tears Of A Clown

Canada's Prime Minister, laughingly known as Justine Trudeau, has revoked the Emergency Powers Act he invoked 10 days ago. He's confident that "existing laws and bylaws are now sufficient to keep people safe." Right. So what changed?

Surely not the threat of a #canadabankrun, the Senate failing to pass their Crime Minister's emergency powers or tanking polling. Surely not. Canada's safe now because all those greasy truckers and their bouncy castles have been cleared from the nation's capital. The dire wolf threat of the hot tub insurrectionists is over. Or is it.

NS Lyons in an excellent essay makes the point that the trucker protest highlighted the rift between Physicals and Virtuals, between people who work in physical space, like truckers, and those who don't. Problem being that Virtuals still depend on physical reality for their existence, however much they write it off as "social construct." An affair of the mind. Sorry, zhirself, no food going to Ottawa via trucks = No lattes.

Perhaps Justine had an epiphany and did a massive U Turn, perhaps the banksters told him so. In the meanwhile, Tamara Lich is still in gaol, charged, bizarrely, with "mischief" and American truckers are rolling.

The Virtual v. Physical war continues to unfold, and I know which side the Compound's on.
