Why would the Western Powers, NATO, go to war over a strip of Ukrainian territory, Donbass? How does that, in any way, shape or form threaten our national integrity. It doesn't, obviously, but even the most myopic observers might note that it threatens our ruling elite oligarchs.
How much money has been siphoned off the Ukraine to the Big Guy via his Burisma crack head son? Did Hillary benefit, and how many more. Good questions and we have to ask are they still getting the Ukrainian paycheck or are they scared their perfidy will be found out.
Imagine. Putin launches a "lightning raid" into the territory and seizes Kiev, where he installs a pro-Russian ruler, the kind of guy we got kicked out in our Fascist color revolution. What then? The new premiere exposes our rulers' snouts at the trough corruption.
Point being, are we beating the war drums, and it is us, the Western powers, the US in particular along with its poodle UK, in a massive attempt to cover up the mafia-like crime of our leaders. Good question.
Perhaps we really think Russia, with a GDP <California is going to start WWIII and we have to protect the "free world," a world in which we're so free you're not allowed to leave your country, buy or sell or work without State permission, what a GloboCorp utopia, is somehow at stake in the Ukraine.
Maybe it is, along with our rulers' malfeasance, skulduggery and corruption.
That's my call and I'm sticking to it.
Your Pal,
LSP
Pelosi’s son and Romney’s son were also “working in Ukraine” based on reports years back. There are a lot of elite claws into the place
ReplyDeleteMaybe some smart people in the Ukraine decided corrupting a few of the USA's power brokers children was a wise blackmail investment. I don't see where our national interests are involved.
ReplyDeleteGood points and agree.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to get these critters in a room and ask them just how much & money do they need? I don't think they even know. Like asking a cokehead how much coke they need,
But the important thing......no mean tweets!
ReplyDeleteWould it have been in our national interest to intervene when Germany invaded Czechoslovakia in 1938? How about when they invaded Poland in 1939? What about when they invaded France in 1940?
ReplyDeleteNow I'm not saying we should go to war over Ukraine, but what about if Putin invades a NATO member? Which is probably coming.
Again over at Peter's place, said far better than I could hope to--

It seems a pretty bipartisan effort, LL. I've yet to see financial breakdown/analysis but probably haven't looked hard enough into the labyrinth.
ReplyDeleteGood call, WSF.
ReplyDeleteTheir appetite's clearly insatiable, Kid.
ReplyDeleteNice cokehead point. Apt. And now I'm reminded of Hunter's accursed laptop.
Infidel, do you remember how the evil orange man was going to take us to war? In the service of Russia, obvs.
ReplyDeleteIf Russia invades a NATO member, like, say, Latvia? I think we'd have to fight, Zendo, otherwise the alliance is meaningless. But would Putin do such a thing at the risk of WWIII.
ReplyDeleteHe'd be pretty foolish to do so, surely, and foolishness doesn't seem to be his defining characteristic. So I'd like to say that scenario's unlikely. Still, sensing NATO disunity and the CIC of its driving power being a Doddering Old Crook, who knows.
Let's pray the Siberian Shock Army doesn't decide to roll.
PS. Do you think the Hitler/Putin analogy accurate? It'd have force, I think, if Russia had rolled into Kiev right after the Crimea and... snapped up all the rest of "greater Russia." But what do I know, just an lsp :)
I think he's right on, RHT. Thx for the link.
ReplyDeleteTwo different photos of a Gopnik.
ReplyDeleteWell said, LASK!

LSP. I think Putin learned the lesson of history.
ReplyDeleteHe invaded Georgia when Bush the Younger was in office. No body did anything.
He invaded the Crimean peninsula when Obama was in office, and started a low-grade war against Ukraine and no one did anything. Well Trump sent some real military help to Ukraine - Obama only sent food and medicine.
I think he's waiting for China to kick off in Taiwan, but then I think China is waiting for Putin to kick off in Ukraine.
And in answer to your larger question. Yes, I think Putin is planning to rebuild the Soviet Union. He has said on more than one occasion that letting the empire fall was the worst mistake made in the last part of the 20th Century.
ReplyDeleteRussians never viewed the prospect of war the same way the US did. They have bomb and fallout shelters for about 80 percent of their urban populations. They stopped building them when the Soviet Union collapsed, but they started building them again in the late 1990s. I don't know that they will risk nuclear war, but they may be betting that the current administration won't go that far.
Good call, Zendo! And I was wondering if you'd bring Georgia up.
ReplyDeleteThat in mind, what would we do if we we Putin, intent on building a Greater Russia, very different, imo, from the USSR, though geographically the same. Expand influence, obvs, and put puppet leaders into neighboring states. Same fig as us.
Imagine, a Russian army in Mexico.
Pray, God, we don't get to such idiocy.
PS. Delete *we we
