Midweek Roundup

Typical Texas Street Scene

It's a hard life. When not watching inspirational videos of Eva Peron who could, per LL, launch several B 52s, it's all about Vespers or Evening Prayer.

Speaking of which, do you remember our bizarrely incompetent retreat from Afghanistan? How much money, we have to ask, was paid to the "big guy," and why aren't the people he paid in full control of the Panjshir Valley? Apparently they're not. "Ban, ban, Taliban," as the song goes.

Let's see how the resistance plays out. In other news, more and more people are getting sick from the vax, China's facing a Lehman moment and Biden's popularity is tanking, which is weird, coz he's the most popular president ever in the history of popularity.

And lest we forget, the millionaire celebrities at the Emmys were exempt from masking because they're "performers." Quite unlike you, the serf. Maybe we need some frontier justice?

Your Old Pal,

LSP

  2. Sorry, WSF, I took down an Eva Peron post and that may have cause confusion... but I leave us with Waylon. So all's not lost.

  3. Waylon was great - miss him. Tried once again to make a comment. Must be using words that upset some censors.

  4. This country is a constitutional republic, not a “democracy”, thankfully. The system thwarts the elites while most citizens don’t know, or even care, about the difference.
The difference? A system that protects minorities from the tyranny of the majority.

  5. I expected to see the new LSP ride on these blogging pages. Not yet? Soon though, I'll wager.

WSF would advise used truck. I rarely do that, because people often dump them once they start having problems. Am I a sucker for buying new? Yes, there's that too.

  6. The comment I made was typed on Word then copied and pasted.

New vs used. You are hoping buying new buys reliability. Not with what is being built now, IMO. You may not have a bill while it is in the Service Department: It will still be in the service bay and not available for your use.

Find a rust free pre 2003 F-350 Powerstroke under 100,000 miles. They are out there from $15-20k and will be the last truck you need to buy.

  7. Thwarts the elites? Let's see that, LL. About time, eh?

  8. LL, it's coming soon, I think. And here's the thing, I've had such good value out of my '08 150 that I'm all for used. And, to be honest, I refuse to get in debt. Cash on the nail. That limits options, obviously, with new rigs going for stupid prices.

    Hmmmmm.

  9. I bought a new car
    Once..
I also drove to Dallas and paid a man for his advice on money. He never bought new. Nor would he buy popcorn at the movie. Never engage in a Bad Deal..
The thrill of a new car is short lived. The cost is Yuge. It depreciates thousands of dollars when it goes from New to Used. You bought it? Now it's Used.

  10. I've never bought a new vehicle, JOG. I don't like the debt involved.
