Tulsa Queen

Perhaps you scorn Emmlou. Go right ahead, and I will fight you, physically. So will the monkey. And he's hard. You have been warned.

  1. I'll fight you for her. Any questions?

  2. Some people simply get better with age, Emmylou Harris is one of those. Her voice, like Alison Krauss and others, is timeless and lifts the spirit. If you haven't seen "Linda Ronstadt:The Sound of My Voice"...their commentary is priceless, and the music is incredible. Simpler times, better times.

  3. Perhaps not.

    Most assuredly not.

  4. I like Emmylou, but all of her band need haircuts - so take THAT!

  5. Emmylou's a long time favorite of mine. As an aside, Ricky Skaggs once played in her band.

  6. Sarthurk, it's not so much me you have to worry about as the monkey. Vicious little beast, I can tell you.

  11. Who in his right mind could scorn Emmylou Harris? She can be lighthearted, funny, and mournful with equal ease. I don't think there is another artist I listen to more often.

On my frequent trips from KC to Marble Falls and Houston, I often stop and browse through the antique stores in downtown Guthrie, OK. On my last trip, I scored an LP, "Gliding Bird," her first album.

Rodney Crowell another of my favorite singer/songwriters, was also in the Hot Band.

  12. Nice one, Joe. And yes, how could anyone in their right mind scorn Emmylou?
