Behold The Awesome

Here at the Compound we're struck for words. Awesome, genius? Yes, but that's not even half the value of this remarkably powerful video parable.

Thanks, Dr. Swankenstein, for sending it in. I hope you, the viewer, enjoy it as much as we do.

Happy Feast of St. Mark,

LSP

  1. Is there a bottom to all of the insanity? When can we declare that everything is as stupid as it can possibly get and move upward?

  4. God help us if this is what passes for adults in our modern era. Geez, like dealing with a child, and that’s a bad rap on children. Need the eye and ear bleach.

  8. Sometime after childhood, after being thoroughly psychologized and thinking I was done badly by life, my parents, teachers and everyone else, I realized no one (especially non-family) owed me anything. Might be nice if they came through with stuff, but that's not the same thing.

Even parenthood, to contradict Freud and Dr. Spock, is a limited liability situation. Doesn't mean that relations might not be heart-rending. But as for children being owed stuff, well, aside from what parents owe the Lord in respect to raising their children, that's it. They don't have to even like them, much less feed their infinitely hungry egos. Reciprocally children (like me, then) owe their parents honor (respect, for starters). That was a hard video to watch, for me. So many young people seem to have, um, Borderline Personality Disorder, or worse.

  10. Disorder? Ain't that the truth, Unknown.

Speaking of kids, my eldest has a "tatt" of a snake on his forearm which looks like a kind of primitive flute. So he clearly owes me. At least he's in the Army, so perhaps every cloud has a silver lining.
