Fireworks
Here in Dallas, everyone's shooting their firearms into the sky. I offered to do the same, all hail the mighty Glock, but Ma LSP said no. Oh well. So here's some Handel. Fireworks, for New Year.
I do hope you're joking about peeps shooting into the sky. You are, right?
I actually hit the sack at 9:30 and skipped all the locals popping off with their fireworks (if they actually did, which I'll never know.) Of course that meant arising at 4:30 am since it was hotter then hell and Erica kitteh squishing my legs on one side and Frankie doggie on the other made for some discomfort.
Now the first huge decision on the new year - 7:30 or 9:30 sung Mass.
The next week is going to be very stressful, LSP. Are we all ready?
Happy New Year and blessings to you, Ma LSP, and the cadet.
Mother knows best. Getting caught doing that over here in Arlington earns you a free ride to the Greybar hotel.
ReplyDeleteHeard the usual; small arms fire, pistol, rifle and shotgun, along with some fireworks, a couple of which were big ones.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice of music, LSP!! Handel's Water Music, as the King's barge floats down the Thames is always quite majestic!!
ReplyDeleteAnd here's wishing you and "Ma LSP" a happy (to the extent possible!) and, of course, HEALTHY New Year! Cheers!!
I already left a comment!

1812 Overture (with guns) is politically correct for NY Eve.
ReplyDeleteHave a great new year!
ReplyDeleteUsed to be in the South fireworks were set off after 12:01 a.m. Christmas Day and New Year's. Fireworks on July 4 were for Northerners.
ReplyDeleteSame here, RHT, the gunfire was south/sw of us... no harm done. Still, I had a pistol ready.
ReplyDeletedrjim, I remember one New Years in Windsor, ON, listening to the gunfire across the river. Someone opened up full auto. Such is the Motor City.
ReplyDeleteThanks, jdb! And to you.
ReplyDeleteAdrienne, all true, but at a little distance.
ReplyDeleteLet's see what next week brings -- my youngest sister's going to DC. Be careful, Kid.
GOOD CALL, LL.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you, Jim!
ReplyDeleteStill pretty much that way here, Sgt.
ReplyDeleteI was going to set off fireworks to celebrate 2020 gone.
ReplyDeleteBut I fell asleep :)
