There is white privilege, if you want to call it by that term. I rarely am even glanced at by the police, and I can walk thru a store without security people following me. Who really believes life is fair to everyone?
It's weird, LL, and no one seems to know. Could it racism or some other thing?
In the meanwhile, I enjoy the privilege and wish it'd extend to the bank account, such as it isn't. Blue? He's happy collecting "entitlements." Commie.
Put my feet to the fire and: I view the progression of events in America from say the 1960's to today as a chart with the horizontal line going from top left to bottom right with its fall going exponentially down as of late, say during and post obama.
I don't believe things start to turn up until the kids feel the pain of bad decision making and I'm afraid I just don't even see that on the horizon yet.
I think myself and most of those I know, which is a smallish 2 digit number, are going to fare alright in the final stretch here, but taking it all into account, there is lots of room to the downside.

ReplyDeleteLSP, you're dripping with privilege.
ReplyDeleteSo is Blue Commander, but he's blue so it's a different sort of privilege.
There is a reason that certain demographics are singled out by store detectives and the police, I wonder why that might be?
White privilege + Sharp-looking, sharp-shooting cowboy privilege = You're unstoppable!
ReplyDeleteA Brit in Texas? That is god-Tier privilege.
ReplyDeleteDamn you! Why you're whiter than Edgar Winter in a snow storm!
ReplyDeleteLooking pretty dang privileged there, LSP.
ReplyDeleteI never had any white privilege but no, this nonsense of today will never stop.
ReplyDeleteLOL, good one!
ReplyDeleteBut WSF, it'd be different if you belonged to a group of people who committed most of the crime. As ye reap...

You're very kind, Jenny! Must dust off those shooting skills, tho.
ReplyDeleteAnon, I choked on my morning coffee...
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Infidel. Speechless.

We mustn't give an INCH, Adrienne. They take it as weakness.
ReplyDeleteGotta put the Maoists back inna box, Kid.
ReplyDeleteSerious fit of narcissism, NFO, but... heh.

Kid, with you I'll wager things are OK where I am -- rural Texas -- will the whole deal go off-hook?
ReplyDeleteWell, we've seen the potential and then some. We've also seen the inability or unwillingness of the "silent majority" to fight back. At least yet.
My feeling is that this will change if the Maoists push their luck much further.
