The kid got back from MEPS and passed. Well done. He swears in next week and should ship out mid-June. I tell you, it's a big relief.
Probyn. Typical Irregular Cav
Of course this represents a pretty severe demotion from Cadet, DLC, to Private, USA. But humility's no bad thing, serve to lead, what?
In the meanwhile, respect to the young 'un. Don't give up is my advice.
Go Army,
LSP
Job well done!
ReplyDeleteA new adventure begins.
A big relief, Ed!
DeleteOf course I respect him, LSP!
ReplyDeleteI wish him well in all he does.
He's really going into Signals? If he's good at it, he may get the opportunity to do some Real Interesting Stuff.
He's definitely Signals, drjim, but I forget the name of the unit -- they do "integrated comms across the battlespace" or something like that. Looked pretty neat and RIS.
DeleteGood for him (and you.)
ReplyDeleteAdrienne, it's been a bit of a journey...
DeleteHooah! Go Army, indeed. Yes, a little humility is not a bad thing. If you don't learn to take orders, you'll never be able to give them.
ReplyDeleteGood call, RHT!
DeleteGood for him. Have they told him where he will do basic?
ReplyDeleteShould be 2 weeks after swearing in, WSF, but we'll see.
DeleteBest of luck to the private!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, LL! An adventure's about to begin.
DeleteFabulous news. It will be the making of him!
ReplyDeleteHe's excited, Jules.
DeleteBest of luck to him. Where's he taking basic, or does he know yet?
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't know yet, Jim. Fort Benning?
Deletethe journey to manhood begins, congrats to your young man!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brig, I'll pass that on!
DeleteCongratulations, and all the best for you both.
ReplyDeleteRefreshingly good news, Kid, and thanks.
DeleteIllegitimi non carborundum! :-)
ReplyDeleteNFO, YES.
DeleteCongratulations to him! God bless.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! Blessings to you.
DeleteHuzzah and Congrats!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a step in the right direction, TC. Btw, he shoots your 20 very well. Nice.
DeleteSounds like he'll be a "Combat IT" kinda guy.
ReplyDeleteI think so, Jim. Not a bad place to be. Basic will be a shock. Heh.
DeleteThis is a big step for him, and he'll likely look back on this a a sharp dividing line between his childhood and becoming a man.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Well done to the lad!
ReplyDeleteBorepatch, I one hundred percent agree. And thanks for the plaudit!
