It's Columbus Day and you're either "taking the knee" like a traitorous millionaire socialist coward, defacing statues or eating spaghetti and celebrating the day.
Here at the Compound we chose the latter option, which is why we're bringing you another uplifting episode of Melania Mondays!

MAGA
Melania's taking a well-deserved rest in Palm Beach today after visiting Las Vegas in the wake of the recent, apparently motiveless, Mandalay Massacre. But the office of America's attractive and glamorous First Lady never sleeps, especially when under attack.
Mourning
Yes, there are people who unwisely choose to attack the former Yugoslavian supermodel, such as Ivana Trump, who told ABC's Good Morning America, that she, not Melania, was "First Lady."
Don't Mess With This Woman
"I have the direct number to White House but I don't really want to call him there because Melania is there," said Ivana, while attempting to promote her new book. "I don't really want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I'm basically first Trump wife [sic], OK? I'm first lady, OK?"
Ivana (left)
Jealously? Really, Ivana? The real First Lady's office is well-known for being able to turn on a dime and issued the following statement.
"Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, DC and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States. She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise."
MAGA
Here at the Compound we think that speaks for itself and well done Melania, for doing your part to make America great again.
Happy Columbus Day!
LSP
I can't fault The Donald for dumping Ivana. She produced spectacular children for him, but there wouldn't ever be an "Ivana Monday" on the LSP blog would there?
ReplyDeleteColonel Melania of the DLC (honorary) is deserving of your praise.
I'm going to have to defend Ivana here, which I'm sure will make me very unpopular. I watched both of her interviews (not live, but Youtube.) I found her to be very likable. As to what she said, it was a toss off line and not a claim to actually being first lady. She simply made the point that she was the first Trump wife and then tossed off the line "sort of like I was the first lady - meaning first wife. She said very nice things about Melania and said they got along very well.
ReplyDeleteSadly, she didn't age well and I suspect she's much older than is reported. Her age may have been changed when she came here. She's also her own worst enemy with the outdated hair and awful makeup.
And I think we can all agree she did a wonderful job raising those kids. She was a strict European type mom.
I agree with Adrienne's (the unpopular) comments.
ReplyDeleteThat remark by Ivana was blown way out of context.
Adrienne, I agree with you --but imagine Ivana first thing in the morning without make up-- or maybe don't. Anyway, by ALL accounts she was a great mother and deserves our respect, and our thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking FLOTUS.
ReplyDeleteLL - please don't make me contemplate her in the morning. OTOH, she may look better without that awful makeup.
ReplyDeleteYep - even Trump said she was a great mom. Don, Jr told the story about back talking his dad once and how he didn't know his dad could move that fast, but the worst was when his mom went after him. She didn't take any crapola from those kids.
LL, you're right. I don't see an "Ivana Monday" anytime soon and yes, the unit's proud of their Colonel (Hon).
ReplyDeleteLinda, I agree!
ReplyDeleteShe seems to have done a good job on the kids, Adrienne and I'm sure you're right, it was just a throw-away line. Snappy put-down from Melania's office though. Message to market, don't mess with Melania!
ReplyDeleteLL, I have to second Adrienne, "please don't make me contemplate her in the morning."
ReplyDeleteTerrifying.
LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL RED DRESS! Heh.
