I know, you're busy setting up firewalls and improving your IT security architecture in case the Kremlin hacks your grill and ruins all those steaks and hamburgers. But still, take some time to remember the fallen. Here's a prayer:
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, in whose hands are the living and the dead: We give thee thanks for all thy servants who have laid down their lives in the service of our country. Grant to them thy mercy and the light of thy presence; and give us such a lively sense of thy righteous will, that the work which thou hast begun in them may be perfected; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord. Amen.
God bless,
LSP
Prayers and commemoration for the fallen who gave everything they had. Challenges for those of us who remain to see to it that their sacrifice was not in vain.
ReplyDeleteWe will be grilling burgers and dogs. I will watch out for Boris and Natasha trying to ruin the event.
Amen, LSP
ReplyDeleteOur Frankie doggie keeps the elephants and Ruskies away - and we thank him.
Thank you for that prayer, Parson.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful day.
Morning briefing for the "Road Crew" today was fun. With the Terror threat in London at "Critical" we had a special briefing from the Governor. It was a long list of things that we had to report up the chain of command. It got to "Suspicious people hanging about in cars", when I raised my hand and said; "So basically you are asking us to look out for dodgy people up to no good in South London?". It brought the house down, even the Governor was laughing adding "Yeah well, use your discretion".
ReplyDeleteMust pray for the souls of those who gave their lives, Brig...
ReplyDeleteAdrienne, dogs are important.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you, Linda!
ReplyDeleteAnon, I laughed. Out loud.
