Almighty Father, whose dear Son, on the night before he suffered, instituted the Sacrament of his Body and Blood: Mercifully grant that we may thankfully receive the same in remembrance of him who in these holy mysteries giveth us a pledge of life eternal, the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who now liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit ever, one God, world without end. Amen.

ReplyDeleteIt's good to have these holidays to help keep us focused on what's important - to keep our eyes riveted on the cross, despite the daily distractions and diversions that come with life.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful prayer and beautiful altar. My old parish didn't cover the statues. That made me sad.
ReplyDeleteSame to you. And I like the practice of covering the statues from passion Sunday until Easter. If only more churches would do it.

ReplyDeleteI hope you rebuked them, Adrienne. I've always thought catholicism would do better for being more fully catholic. Veiling statues is part of that.
