Redder Than Russia? #2

Do you remember the old days, when we were in a Cold War with Russia? One of the things we didn't like about the godless Reds was their intolerance of Christianity. The Communists didn't like Christianity at all, and did their best to get rid of it.

These days, Russia encourages the church and it's active in schools, the armed forces, and throughout civil society. The Russian State actively promotes the Orthodox Church, and some see a return of symphonia between the temporal and spiritual powers.

In America, by contrast, Christian prayer is banned in Public Schools, while our President promotes Islam -- and I'll leave it at that.

So who's redder now, America, or Russia?

You decide.

  1. Putin is clearly a Christian and Obama clearly is not. Nobody can argue with you in that regard.

  2. Yes - and in San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone is being roasted for acting like a Catholic.

Now what really is upsetting is that 80% of the parents disagree with him. Really? Then how about you stick your brats in a public school.

The world is going mad, LSP.

The Archdiocese of San Francisco is under attack from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for insisting that Catholic schools teach Catholic doctrine.

It seems the Board of Supervisors is upset over a morality clause that includes language against homosexuality, same-sex marriage and contraceptives. They unanimously passed a resolution rebuking the Catholic Church and demanding the archbishop ignore Catholic doctrine and respect the rights of teachers and students.

  3. The Russian army even has a mobile Orthodox chapel, fits on the back of a large truck. Contrasting that, I read earlier on FB of the US Navy discipling a chaplain for referencing his Christian faith during counseling sessions! (I realize, I should not trust *anything* on FB at face value, unless able to confirm it thru outside sources.)

  4. LL, Putin certainly backs the church, whereas Obama attacks it. I think that supports your point.

  6. I know, Mattexian -- the Airforce is even worse, apparently.

    It's disturbing, at every level.

  7. "Trust in the Lord and pass the ammunition" has become "Trust in the Law and pass the legislation".
