Jefferts Schori, Episcopal Bishop or Two-Bit Space Alien?

Katherine Jefferts Schori is the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church (TEC). But we have to ask, is Jefferts Schori a bishop, or a no-account, two-bit, space alien?

Here's what Jefferts Schori had to say about the Islamic terror attack on the World Trade Center:

"I saw a pickup truck a couple of weeks ago with a waving American flag painted on its rear window. As I walked through the parking lot, I realized there was something written on the tailgate – the word ISLAM stood out first. Finally I saw the whole sorry slogan, “everything I need to know about Islam I learned on September 11th.” How will we change hearts that seem closed to learning more about peace?

"Are we willing to recognize and then proclaim that as children of Abraham, Christians, Jews, and Muslims share that vision of a healed world that Micah paints for us?"

Here's what people in Saudi Arabia were saying:

"Then we all knew it wasn't an accident. We heard sporadic yelling in the streets and happy shouts from Saudis in our own hospital. In the terminal cancer ward, patients were hooting and screaming “Down with USA,” much to the horror of the American nurses tending them."

Maybe the Saudis weren't, you know, Muslims.

And maybe Jefferts Schori isn't "off-world."

  1. I'll bet you a dollar that if you grabbed her (rather prominent) nose and hair and pulled, that the full face mask would come off, revealing a demon, or space alien, or 4,000 year old vampire.

You'd have to be an out of touch space alien to pick a mask that damned ugly. You have to know that Jefferts Schori's breath will smell like an old tent, which is a dead give away for a 4,000 year old vampire.

  2. Definitely a space alien in disguise, as evidenced by this attempt to disguise other hideous truths. A world of illusions.

Though of course, there ARE many Muslims that share a vision of a healed world. Maybe she thinks she can name that fact and inspire the rest of Islam to follow suit.
Maybe she thinks bishops have more power than they do.
Maybe she thinks rainbow vestments are attractive.
A world of illusions AND delusion.
    Alien!

  3. Space Aliens never travel alone.....they always have a Lawyer with them.

  4. Anonymous - that's also true of demons.

Or does that statement suggest that I'm a racist homophobe?

  5. We've certainly learned that the hard way, Anonymous...

  6. Good point, LL and I've yet to see a demon that wasn't accompanied by a gang of lawyers.

Now, some people think that space aliens are, in fact, demonic.

What does this make the legal profession?

  7. The legal profession supports child molesters, rapists, murders, terrorists, politicians, and demons without discriminating. Therefore they're progressive. Hillary Clinton is a lawyer. So is Barack Obama, Ted Cruz and Christ Christie.

Ronald Reagan wasn't. Mitt Romney and Rand Paul are not.

Make of that what you will.

  8. I think that labeling space aliens as 'demonic' borders on racist profiling. The fact that they have no genitalia visible suggests that they have embraced an alternate lifestyle and need to be added to the "protected groups" in the US for the purpose of preferential treatment and hiring. The Americans with Disabilities Act needs to be broadened to include both very large aliens and tiny aliens, no larger than a hedgehog, or even a microbe. Aliens with dietary prohibitions (brain sucking) need to be routed (by the IRS) to any group with the word "Patriot" in its title for the purpose of harvesting food.

Looping back to Right Reverand Jefferts Schori, why should she have to wear that ugly, ridiculous mask? It's only prejudice among the general population that makes her hide in the shadows.

  9. I always forget that Obama's a lawyer. Din't he have something to do with Harvard? #BlackMass

  10. So, now would be a bad time to go public with my plans to become a lawyer. :)
