Some people have this idea that Texas is sort of backward, because it's not like France, or Brussels, or Dalston, or something. That's ridiculous, we're an advanced country.

I have the utmost admiration for Texas because you all have a certain way of doing things and no one is going to change that and I like it.
ReplyDeleteWe have a Franciscan priest, Fr. Juan Diego Sutherland, at our parish here in Halifax, NS giving a mission. He is originally from Canada but serves in Fort Worth, Texas. He loves Texas. In his first homily, he said he is going to get the bumper sticker "Canadian born, Texas by the grace of God."
ReplyDeleteOur daughter who lives in Tyler, Texas says she prefers the one that says "Canadian born, Texas got here as fast as I could".
Alright there, Bushwacker. There are now 2 Lee sporters, a #4 and a III. Updates coming! Odd how these guns multiply.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have a point Rick; I think Texas sees itself as "independent"... I'm all for that.
Hope the mission's going well, Julie -- and your daughter's enjoying Tyler. Not too far from Dallas but still in the country.
God bless.
