Goddess Watch

If you go to the improbably named Ebeneezer Herchurch Lutheran congregation in San Francisco, you can buy a neatly crafted Goddess Rosary. Or save yourself the bother and order online for a mere $35.00, post & packaging included. They have a prayer too, which goes like this:

Our Mother who is within us
we celebrate your many names.
Your wisdom come.
Your will be done,
unfolding from the depths within us.
Each day you give us all that we need.
You remind us of our limits
and we let go.
You support us in our power
and we act with courage.
For you are the dwelling place within us
the empowerment around us
and the celebration among us
now and forever. Amen.

I guess the oppressive, patriarchal Lord's Prayer just wasn't good enough for them and, while we're in bizarre religion mode, "Vicky" Gene Robinson has announced his resignation so that he can be with his "beloved husband," Mark. But that won't be till 2013.

Odd how demented space creatures have made such inroads into the Church.

Stay on the horse,

LSP

  3. LSP, yes quite insane indeed. I am not giving up on the Lord's Prayer, it is the Lord I pray to when I pray. I'm shaking my head, there's way to many changes in this world, people live way to fast and don't take or make the time to offer thanks or pray and mediate in my opinion. I say leave things alone, they are sacred. Keep the Christ in Christmas as well, that's another one that boggles my mind. It irks me that the public schools here are no longer having Christmas concerts, lets not upset the immigrants! I'm going to stop there, if I don't have anything nice to say then I'd best not say much more.

    Have a blessed Sunday!

  4. Glad to see you're back to blogging, Parson!

The only agenda here is the destruction of Christianity. I don't see how these people can credibly claim any other motive.

Scripture and Tradition are clear. This is blatant idolatry. I was going to say "in God's house," but I'm confident he abandoned that building long ago.

  5. Thanks Silverfiddle.

I think you're right about 'destruction.' They won't succeed, of course.
