Unholy Communion

Dog

The little ACoC (Anglican Church of Canada) is at it again. Desperate to bolster dramatically reduced numbers, Ontario clergyperson, Rev. Marguerite Rea, gave 'communion' to an Alsatian dog at St. Peters, Toronto. After a gentle reprimand from her bishop, Rea stated that her actions were "a simple way of reaching out."

ACoC

In the meanwhile, the strangely shrinking ACoC continues on its trajectory out of earth orbit, with the tacit approval of its richer southern cousin, TEC (The Episcopal Church) and its leaderene, Jefferts Schori.

All rumours to the contrary, TEC, ACoC and the COE (Church of England) are not about to implode into something resembling a black hole in the icy depths of space.

To the stars!

  1. It is rare that a self-avowed Christian church give us the opportunity to shout "Blasphemy!"

I am very upset with my Catholic Church hierarchy over how it has handled the evil lawbreaking going on, but this is a blatant trampling of Christian values.

However, I still can't decide which is worse.

Thanks for posting! I was worried about you.

  2. Thanks Silverfiddle -- all's well, but I've been vastly preoccupied w/horse training & church, so haven't posted in a while.

The problem with your hierarchy (in the US) is that many of them are no better than the wicked nonsense we see in TEC & its space junk partner, the ACoC -- but at least you have B16...

    Cheers.

  5. How is antagonizing the (maybe just conservative) members of your church going to get you more members? The leadership in most of the big mainstream churches seems to be doing this "reaching out" more and more...

  6. Good point Bluesun -- the 'reaching out' has proved oddly unsuccessful at filling the pews... provoking dioceses like mine (Fort Worth) to leave the Union. Not before time, either.

  7. Stuff like this (gay marriage, moral relativism) is designed to make people who have rejected God's plain language feel better.

Back in the old day the libertines eschewed the church and all her trappings; nowadays they invade and subvert.

  8. I have some friends in MT who finally split from the Episcopal Church (into an Anglican Church) when the big kahuna of the state (sorry, I don't know the names for the hierarchy) preached for "Unity over scripture." I think about 75% of the members at that particular church up and left.
