Church and State

St. Michael's Conference

Things have been busy lately, mostly with the St. Michael's Conference and various lit deadlines, to say nothing of Vlad "New Constantine" Putin's protection of surveillance-state enemy No.1, Snowden.

Introit

Perhaps you remember the olden days when we used to criticize the Russians for spying on their citizens and trying to ban Christianity? Odd how the State hates the Faith, especially the catholic sort that says abortion is wrong and marriage is between a man and a woman. Speaking of which, it'll be interesting to see how the clash between our secularist Administration and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops develops over Obamacare.

strike incense

As I understand it, neither side seems willing to take any prisoners, which could result in the Church becoming the counter-cultural force she should be in this adulterous, sinful and disbelieving generation. "Get behind abortion or we'll fine you out of existence," says the State. "Bring it on," says the Church.

gates of hell won't prevail

Maybe that's the way it'll pan out and I guess we'll see the resolve of both parties when the first bishop is sentenced to jail. Hopefully it won't come to that; but if it does, the atheist State will lose.

In the meanwhile, I hope you've all come to terms with the fact that you're being spied on in our brave new world of conspiracy theory turned to conspiracy fact.

Cheers,

Father's Day

Pro Patria
It's Father's Day and somehow I feel Bear Cav pics are in order. One of my old friends from England, who became a Roman Catholic, thinks that Father's Day is just an attempt by the marketeers to wring more money from an already oversold public.

Hagia Sophia doesn't belong to you

What a killjoy.

Gay Mystickes

You'll notice that Christian priests are called Father, not Mother.

Filioque?

Corpus Christi

Go Oxford!!

I love the Feast of Corpus Christi, which takes place on the first Thursday or Sunday after Trinity Sunday, because I believe Christ is truly present in the Sacrament of the Altar and should therefore be celebrated and reverenced. Or more poetically, "blessed, hallowed, praised and adored."

Toledo

Spain is famous for its Corpus Christi devotions, perhaps especially in Toledo, the See of that country's Primate. But other countries celebrate the Feast well; even church-hating England, home of the celebrity atheist club and associated new world order secularists, manages to put on a decent Eucharistic procession or two. I like the one in Oxford, predictably enough.

Krakow

I'm surprised they haven't got 'round to banning Christian processions in England yet, but they're still legal, apparently. They're legal here in Texas too, where we even have a town named after the Blessed Sacrament and its Feast, Corpus Christi.

Corpus Christi

I have not been to the city of Corpus Christi.

God bless,

Country Life

some truck

I'll just let the above picture speak for itself and if you're ever passing through check out the Gold Nugget. Plenty of saddles and you never know, sometimes (rarely) the odd firearm at a decent price.

I Ride JB

I've been invited to bless the Gold Nugget family farm and have a go at the hogs which terrorize the property. Must get down to business and do that.

Putin Rides Bears

In other news, I was cantering JB 'round some mesquites this morning when she skidded in mud and great was the fall of us. The horse didn't land on top of me, fortunately.

Our Ruler Rides Unicorns!

So be careful where and how you ride.

Stay on the horse,

Memorial Day

Have a great Memorial Day. Respect and honor to the fallen.

I'll be grilling burgers at the Dallas compound.

Stand up for freedom and against oppression.

Lift Up Your Hearts!

Joy!!

The news hasn't been good. The Religion of Peace is acting with characteristic savagery, the Administration stonewalls, lies and bullies, ammo's too expensive or unavailable altogether and we're being smitten by a plague of tornadoes. Oh, I almost forgot! Mainstream Anglicanism in the West has become a sort transsexual pantomime.

Really?

So here's a version of the Lord's Prayer to lift the spirits and get everyone closer to the goddess.

Our mother who art in earth
hallowed be thy creation
shekinah come
indwell wisdom
within this mortal person

you give us this day
our daily cup
attend our deepest wounds
for we are called to birth life anew

tempt us with your beauty
to pursue your desire
and deliver us from all slavery
present this hour

for thine is the drink of passion
that nursed a manger baby
great found of mystery
spring

now and forever, amen.

Toothsome...

Pretty neat, eh? Here's some more. It's a form of intercession to be used at a women's Eucharist.

"Sophia Wisdom: Our world community today, broken, unhealed and full of suffering, cries out for women's voices and leadership. We need women priests...to witness daily for nonviolence in a world gone mad with the power of weapons and guns and greed.

Getting rid of the guns and greed

We need women priests...to put their bodies on the line and witness to the Powers that Be to stop bloodshed. We need women priests...to name our government's squandering of the people's money. We need women priests...to call our government, church, and all institutions to transparency, conversion, and accountability.

Wall Street Trembles

We need women priests...to speak up to the government and voice the basic needs of the grassroots -- which have gone unmet for so long. We need women priests...to preach the Good News to the poor, the oppressed and exploited, and to empower them mightily.

Afflicting the Rich

We need women priests...to boldly proclaim the Gospel so that it afflicts the rich and comfortable -- who need shaking up. We need women priests...to name the injustices-which are many-that take us away from the fullness of our humanity.

We Demand Respect!

We need women priests...to demand respect for our Earth and her life-giving waters. We need women priests...to restore us and our lives to wholeness/holiness-and to recreate us as community."

You Clowns

What a gang of clowns.

This Has Nothing To Do With Islam.

one of the killers (left) with Anjem Choudary

Two men hacked a British soldier to death today in Woolwich, SE London. "We swear by Almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you," said one of the cleaver-wielding killers. In other reports the two killers shouted "Allahu Akbar", the Islamic battle-cry, as they cut into the soldier.

The Muslim Council of Great Britain has stated that the attack has "nothing to do with Islam." The Koran says otherwise.

5:33-“The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution (by beheading), or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter:”

8:12- “I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off.”

7:4- “Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), strike off their heads; at length; then when you have made wide Slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives”: thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens.”

9:123: “Oh ye who believe! Murder those of the disbelievers and let them find harshness in you.”

History also appears to contradict Britain's Muslim Council. For example, Islam's founder, Mohammed, ordered 700 Jews to be beheaded at Medina, according to his earliest biographer, Ibn Ishaq. Since then beheading has featured largely in Islamic culture and is no stranger to it today. According to Amnesty International, there have been 47 beheadings in Saudi Arabia alone this year.

Make the effort to look it up and ask yourself, is the Muslim Council of Great Britain being duplicitous or simply ignorant of their own religion? And while you're at it, reflect on the identity of Mohammed's spirit guide; was it really Gabriel or some other thing?

Oklahoma

Terrible news out of Oklahoma, where a tornado ripped into Moore. According to Tornado Scientists the twister was somewhere between 8 and 600 times the power of the Hiroshima bomb. We must thank God that more people weren't killed and pray, of course for the victims of the storm.

Oklahoma is fiercely in favor of 2nd Amendment rights and allows open carry, unlike Texas, which doesn't, oddly enough.

Wind's kicking up here, take cover...

Ride On

JB

To escape the stream of lying corruption that's pouring out of Washington D.C. like superheated plasma from an angry sun, I climbed into the truck and paid a visit to the horse.

Edgehill

JB was looking good and has put on weight nicely, thanks VS for looking after that, still, she isn't very fit because I haven't been riding very much. In fairness to me, I haven't had a lot of time to get in the saddle but it pays to make the time. Healthy body, healthy mind, and riding's one of the more enjoyable things in life, especially going fast.

Marston Moor

Saying that, I didn't go at any great speed with JB, just walk and trot, and I felt she showed good control. Still, she needs to be ridden more to "level up," I'll have to adjust the schedule accordingly.

Ride over it was back to HQ, the wires and a veritable avalanche of kindergarten style tomfoolery on the part of the Administration.

Naseby

I notice they've fallen back on the "we were just idiots!" defense. Remarkable. But hey, don't you dare criticize our rulers unless you want your 'phones tapped and the State's collection enforcers knocking on your door.

Mark Steyn writes about it here.

Ride on,

Worst Sermon Ever?

Bad

I've discovered what may be the worst sermon ever preached, all thanks to this blog called Not Another Episcopal Church Blog. NAECB comments on alien-possessed Jefferts Schori's exegesis of St. Paul's exorcism of a demoniac slave girl in Acts.

Boy Bishop

Jefferts Schori gives the narrative an interesting off-world twist. Read on, it's worth the effort.

"We live with the continuing tension between holier impulses that encourage us to see the image of God in all human beings and the reality that some of us choose not to see that glimpse of the divine, and instead use other people as means to an end. We’re seeing something similar right now in the changing attitudes and laws about same-sex relationships, as many people come to recognize that different is not the same thing as wrong. For many people, it can be difficult to see God at work in the world around us, particularly if God is doing something unexpected."

Alien

"There are some remarkable examples of that kind of blindness in the readings we heard this morning, and slavery is wrapped up in a lot of it. Paul is annoyed at the slave girl who keeps pursuing him, telling the world that he and his companions are slaves of God. She is quite right. She’s telling the same truth Paul and others claim for themselves. But Paul is annoyed, perhaps for being put in his place, and he responds by depriving her of her gift of spiritual awareness. Paul can’t abide something he won’t see as beautiful or holy, so he tries to destroy it. It gets him thrown in prison. That’s pretty much where he’s put himself by his own refusal to recognize that she, too, shares in God’s nature, just as much as he does – maybe more so! The amazing thing is that during that long night in jail he remembers that he might find God there – so he and his cellmates spend the night praying and singing hymns."

Space Creature

"An earthquake opens the doors and sets them free, and now Paul and his friends most definitely discern the presence of God. The jailer doesn’t – he thinks his end is at hand. This time, Paul remembers who he is and that all his neighbors are reflections of God, and he reaches out to his frightened captor. This time Paul acts with compassion rather than annoyance, and as a result the company of Jesus’ friends expands to include a whole new household. It makes me wonder what would have happened to that slave girl if Paul had seen the spirit of God in her."

Overlord

You can't get better than that, eh?

So, Jefferts Schori, I award you a remarkable 10 out of 10 coveted Alien Head awards.

Well done!

Clown Masses

Nice

Some people might say, "What right have you got, so-called 'LSP', to say that the way other people worship their 'god' is somehow wrong!" Some people might say that and I won't argue but here's a couple of pictures.

What have we here?
Such a clown.

The Fraction!
And here's some more!

Abaddon
And what's this?

Possessed?
So, Clown Masses, lovable band of goofy eccentrics or alien possessed abominations before the Lord?

Alien Head

You decide.

I Love Shooting

Fake Shooter

I love shooting and if there was some way I could get out every day with the guns, well, I would. I enjoy the clean air country aspect of it, I like the skill of it, I like the explosive power shock and awe of it; I like the smell of the weapons and their mechanics, I like focusing on the front sight and the breathing, squeeze the trigger don't pull, bit of it. I like it all.

Real Shooter

Saying that, I'm not a desperately good shooter; just a decent average in the great scheme of things. And there's nothing wrong with that, at all.

Keep squeezing the trigger and God bless,

LSP
