They were lots of fun, fought like crazy and were all about 20-22 inches long, and about 8 pounds each. Most of what I caught I had smoked professionally, and had a few fillets grilled fresh, nothing better than fresh salmon.

Well, maybe fresh halibut....salt water fishing is a blast, I highly recommend you try it.Freddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10778430453468720627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3407817413258733695.post-71912069099811366612016-09-23T19:06:53.219-07:002016-09-23T19:06:53.219-07:00I know LL, you keep telling me, and I've tried...I know LL, you keep telling me, and I've tried the method but only caught medium/small cats. I think I didn't know the water well enough.

But that's changed, dramatically; so I'll set up and see what happens. With that in mind, I caught no end of catfish today, lost count, and they were all good sized. In fact, the first one was getting up there. All on a light rod, 12lb test and a weightless worm on a treble or circle hook, mostly circle. Tap, bang!

Big fun on a light rod. Now, there are some big, mambo blue gill out there somewhere, I know this for a fact; in the fishing hall of fame in Heyward, WI, there is a mounted bluegill that was 4 pounds, and was about 13 inches long.
