It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

Bushcraft is about survival, yes, survival in the wild. It's about going it alone without the convenience of supermarkets and all the so-called benefits of cubicle culture in the metrosprawl.

But just because you're out in the field like a sovereign and far away from overprieced fancified restaurants, doesn't mean you can't eat and eat well. In Trump's America this means eating steak, which is now cheap, large and plentiful. So how to do that out in the bush?

Here at the Compound we hope you find this short infovideo as helpful as we do, and don't hang around. Get out there with your 30-30 bush rifle, hunker down at the pit and sort out the T Bone!

It's Bushcraft Wednesday! Pumpkin Carving

Bushcraft isn't about relying on Nanny State to do it all for you. No, it's about getting out in the bush and crafting it yourself.

In this short infovideo, Hickok45 shows us how it's done, Halloween style.

Here at the Compound we hope you find this short "how-to" film as useful as we do.

Change, adapt, survive.

It's Bushcraft Wednesday! Forging The Spear

Bushcraft is just that, a craft, and like any craft it has its tools. Like spears. Think about it, you're looking at your bushcraft toolkit and ticking off the items. Large and small kniives, check; whetstone, check, snares, line and hooks, check; re-purposed single shot 12 gauge musket, check. But where's the spear?

You don't have one. Bad error. Do you go to Cabela's or Academy or Bass Pro, and give your money to "the Man" for some hyped up piece of outdoors industry gimmickry? No, that's not what bushcraft's about. You make one yourself. Hammer, forge and tongs.

Here at the Compound we hope you find this short infovideo as helpful as we do.

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

Bushcraft isn't simply about surviving without the aid of modern conveniences like supermarkets and the Nanny State. Sometimes it involves ethical decisions, perhaps even dilemmas.

When a monkey gets shot, is it murder?

You be the judge,

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

The gun is a tool, an important tool in the art of bushcraft, of being able to survive in the wild. Some opt for shotguns because they get the job done and ammo is plentiful and cheap.

With that in mind, we're pleased to present this short training video and hope you find it as useful as we do, here at the Compound.

Shoot straight,

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

Bushcraft is all about authenticity. It's about doing it yourself, in the wilderness, without supermarkets, convenience stores and the trappings of so-called "progress." There's no Fender "Strats" in the bush, but that's not to say there isn't music.

Here at the Compound we hope you find this educational video as inspiring as we do.

God bless,

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

Bushcraft is about surviving in the wild, in the bush, and part of that means understanding the creatures of the bush.

Here at the Compound we think this short infovideo speaks for itself and hope you find it as helpful as we do.
