Magnificat

If you follow the strange new modernistic lectionary you'll have heard the Magnificat this morning at Mass, Mary's exultant hymn of praise to God. My soul doth magnify the Lord, sings the Virgin to Elizabeth.

Consider the depth and power of the canticle and while we're at it, here's an Advent carol from the Cambridge crew.

Some argue that the West won't defeat the twin jihad of Secularism and Mohammedanism until its people recover their faith, which is the ancient, unconquerable Faith of the Church.

It takes Spirit to defeat spirit or to put it another way, Charles Martel didn't forge his hammer in a vacuum.

Magnificat anima mea,

LSP

The Advent carol was most appropriate. I half expected to see dancing lesbians, trailing brightly colored streamers pour in and around the pews, wearing comfortable shoes. Pretending to hammer a few nails into the Old Rugged Cross. They didn't show up for the event and that's something.

The Season has such beautiful songs, such devotion, such tradition and history that polluting it with progressive B. S. infuriates me. Handel's Messiah - in the original German please. It loses something in the translation. For unto us a child is born, unto us, a son is given... Note a son, not a "child that is transitioning to be a male".

And the season pushes forward to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the singly most important birth, the Advent. Yes, Santa and family gatherings have their place, but Christmas needs to be centered on Christ.

"Charles Martel didn't forge his hammer in a vacuum. "
Our forefathers were led into battle by preachers at first.
In battle, for a good footing, stand on the Rock. All else is shifting stand.
And Merry Christmas!

LL, I'm a bit like the boy who cried wolf except that every time I do, out pops a lesbian theater collective or a trans dance troupe. This time it was different and may have caught some by surprise.

And I'm totally with you on the music. Gotta love Handel's Messiah in the original.

Cheers.

And to you, Ed!

Urban II called the 1st Crusade, I don't see Francis I doing the same thing, somehow. And for sure, stand on the Rock.
