A Clean Gun Is A Happy Gun

Remember, if you don't clean the filthy beasts they don't work. To that end, here's a short inspirational video.

Happy-happy, joy-joy. No, I will not post a Ren and Stimpy clip.

Cleaning guns on the porch. Perfect. Our porch is rather small and too easy for prying eyes to see. So, I make do at my work bench in the garage. I built it, so it meets my needs well. There is no view from there, but I have installed a mini-stereo so I can enjoy music while I make happy guns.

I clean with Shooter's Choice MC#7 and lube with Mobil 1.

And never forget that "Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness"!

That's a sermonette of epic proportions. If you take care of the weapon, the weapon will take care of you.

I'm an RSO at the local range and will be working it today. At some point, likely in the late afternoon, things will slow down and I'll get a chance to get a rifle dirty. Then I'll clean it. Soon it will be dirty again. It's simply the circle of life.

What an excellent link, RHT.

I'm lucky here with this porch -- it's like having an extra room and no one seems to mind if there's an armory being brought up to spec on it.

Saying that, I once butchered a pig on the porch and wondered if things were getting a bit too Deliverance. But hey, gotta do it somewhere.

Shoot on.

Thank you, LL, for making the God connection. But such is the way of Vicars General.

Well said, Jim. There's a rhythm to it.

Glad you liked the link. Here are two more---

At the end, he just lights up a 12-string---

Same song, many years later, but a good dose of Kottke's
droll humor at the intro. Also, an image of a man who loves
what he does---
