Black Cavalry

There I was in the front office, some call it a porch, when a troop of cavalry trotted by. Black cavalry, a stirring sight.

There were a few outliers, some ambled along at a walk.

Others at something like an extended trot.

And others again at a bareback hand gallop.

I like everything about this and file it under "country life in Texas."

Ride on,

They're riding some very nice looking horses.

One thing I'd like to do now that we're settled here is find a place that does "beginner's stuff" with horses.

I rode some when I was a kid, and enjoyed it. Might like to give it a try again.

The Union had black troops. Some were mounted...you don't think that they're trying to take Hillsboro?

The horses looked very well, drjim. You should take up riding -- the best thing is to find some horse people who'll help you out.

Have to get back in the saddle myself, it's been a little while.

I think we're OK, LL. This crew were MAGA, interestingly.

I'm sure there are lots of "Beginning Horsemanship" classes out here.
