Happy Mondays!

Here's a cheery thought to brighten up your day:
Via ZeroHedge -- The political class has completely disrupted the American structure of production, made American workers uncompetitive, snuffed the life out of entrepreneurs, and burdened the entire nation with a debt obligation the size of Jupiter. The US economy is not the strongest and most durable in the world — it is an unskilled thirty-two-year-old waiter crashing at his parent’s place and trying to pay down an $80,000 international relations degree.

That makes me want to go out and shoot pistols, but then again I don't need much tempting.

Gun Rights,

Blue Firearms Advisor is waiting outside to go shooting. You need to listen to Blue Enthusiast and go (but tie him to the bumper before shooting).

What about fishing? And I'm trying to make a point here. Jesus was a carpenter but he ran with fishermen. You need a dedicated bass pond there in the Parish. I realize that there are lakes in the region but they're clearly not consecrated (with clear water) that is necessary to get the bass to strike reliably. It may require intervention from the Bishop's trove...time to get those coins made.

Dhimmi heard from an old timey fish catcher that you wade out into the pond holding a one-by-six spruce plank. When you're in a bit beyond waist deep, you slam the plank down hard on the pond's surface. The concussion stuns the fish, which float to the surface. This ain't sportin'. But the frying pan don't care none.

Thanks for the coin reminder, LL. And yes, where's that bass pond?

OK, I get it Dhinni. I need to catch more fish. This is true.

Bass are sight feeders, so fishing for them works better in clear water. My guess is that it's still murky in Tx because of all the winter moisture. My intent is to build a proper bass pond that would support a population of twenty or thirty (I realize that doesn't sound all that ambitious) and stock it with bluegill that they could feed on. If I had TEC's money, it would be a magnificent bass pond that the Savior, himself, would want to walk across. Alas, I don't have the equivalent of an eighty car train filled with Nazi gold.

I'm looking forward that bass pond, LL. Maybe we have to work at getting our hands on that train.
