You're Fired!

Well, almost. High flying Episcopal Church lib bishop, Stacy Sauls, has been placed on "administrative leave" by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry because of "possible misconduct." Curry wrote the following:

I need to inform you that on Wednesday I placed on administrative leave Bishop Stacy Sauls, Chief Operating Officer, Samuel McDonald, Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Director of Mission, and Alex Baumgarten, Director of Public Engagement. This is a result of concerns that have been raised about possible misconduct in carrying out their duties as members of senior management of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society.

Sauls is notorious for bullying and not believing in the Bible, Hell, or Satan.

Sure about that last bit, Stacy?

Good riddance.

What could POSSIBLY amount to misconduct in that outfit? Given their history or outrageous behavior? Maybe skimming from Justin's personal secret fund?

Where do these awful people come from? It's a wonder that anyone attends any church anywhere.

Certainly not anti-Christianity, LL. Maybe it the cash... developing.

TEC is definitely a numbers-thin environment, Adrienne.

Sauls accused several people of the same kind of misconduct re: finances in Kentucky. He was appointed by the woman bishop Schori to his current job. Reports in the last couple of years
about her administration and loss of funds makes one wonder if the financial problems and misconduct includes her and others.

Well, we have to wonder.

By "awful people" I assume that Adrienne means the author of this blog for a misleading headline and drooling over the possibility that someone with whom he disagrees might be in a bad situation. To my understanding of what Jesus calls us to do and be this is distressing,

I have know Bishop Sauls for a little better than 15 years. He was not only my bishop, but I was his canon Missioner and canon to the ordinary. Stacy is a man with solid managerial integrity, a strong moral compass, selfless servitude, and deeply spiritual. I have every bit of confidence in him and continue my prayers and support for him and his family, looking forward to the day when he resumes his duties to assist in the ministry of this Church and our Presiding Bishop.

@mick... I am from the Diocese of Lexington, before, during and after Stacy Sauls served as bishop. If you know of "several" he accused of mismanagement then you certainly are privy to more information than I was.

"Accused several?" Not true. He accused one who was tried, found guilty, and was sentenced.

Alright there, Johnnie. Maybe Stacy's "leave" is short term. But you know what they say: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B25TUJsQhjc

Looks like he wasn't guilty after all, just some of his team. But if he didn't do anything wrong, why was he fired, because the buck stopped with him? And I'm no expert, but I get the feeling that there's a streak of unpleasantness in 815land...
