Walking in Texas? Take a Gun.

They say that walking's good for you but in Texas you don't know what you'll find.

Some Crew, All Wigged-Out In The Woods

Packs of wild dogs, turkeys, fierce hogs, maybe a dove or two and the occasional wigged-out crew of freaks, holed up in the brush, trying to "find the gig" and get back to Austin.

Mind How You Go

So I like to take a 12 gauge.

Be safe,

LSP

Looks like a lovely walk.

I know you've been here a while now... but, um, I think an idiomatic dictionary might still be in order...
Will see what I can find, and send to you. ALONG WITH that footwear that I told you to review that I still have not been able to make good on. (designers are still on acid. sorry. a constant problem with hippies.)

Rifled slugs will blow the choke right out of that gun barrel.

You must fire the design team.

I've been thinking about getting a slug barrel, interestingly.

I have a rifled shotgun barrel. It doesn't shoot rifled slugs, it shoots bullets...still called slugs.

Just the kind of thing I was thinking about. Useful.

I will embellish on my Sunday Sermonette blog posting.

.50 caliber round in a sabot... OMG.

...punch through the brush and STOP the freak, or the hog, or whatever.

Most freaks are hogs. Most razorbacks are freaks. You wouldn't want to eat either one. Trail funeral with a few spades of earth and a bit of scripture quoted to send them on their way.

A shovel would come in handy encase of immediate interment is needed for snakes and other vermin...

That, Brighid, is a very sensible idea. maybe an old entrenching tool...
