Semper Latte

As if to mark the Autumnal Equinox, or "Mabon", America has launched air and seaborne strikes against targets in Syria. I guess that means we're at war again, although it's not entirely clear who with and for how long, other than a "very long time."

Martial

Here's our war leader, the Commander in Chief, returning the salute of two Marines.

Inspired to fight and win? Neither are we.

Semper Latte.

At least the President assured us that we are not at war with Muslims. I guess that's why we're bombing command and control compounds at night when nobody is in them. That makes perfect sense to me. We don't want to actually kill them. Just blow up some mud buildings.

And to show solidarity, the president salutes with his cuppa mud. It makes sense when you look at it that way.

Sort of like "leading from the front", but from Starbucks.

I'd really rather see him hanging out at a Starbucks all day than to have him trashing the country (and the planet).

I breathe a sigh of relief when he's golfing (and he does that a lot) because my sense is that he's not destroying the nation while he's on the links -- he has assistants to do that while he's otherwise occupied with golf, 420 or whatever.

gah-- what a surprise.
The man takes his job SO seriously.

But you're not filled with steely confidence and stern resolve at the sight of our Commander in Chief's martial bearing?

Besides that sloppy salute, what kind of a man allows his wife to follow behind him and not offer a hand as she de-planes (de-helicopters?)

Oh, right - a Muslim.

The phrase "some kind of sick joke" springs to mind...

Nothing new to see there, move along people...
I don't believe muslims hang at Starrybucks as they have people pack'n and bacon, TYJ!

I think it's time to quit accusing the President of excessive golf/vacation time. I decided to check this out. I think this reporter is reasonably reliable:

"CBS White House reporter Mark Knoller is the unofficial but widely trusted chronicler of data on presidential travels and other day-to-day White House goings-on, so we turned to his calculations.

On Aug. 8, 2014, Knoller tweeted that Obama had taken 19 vacations totaling 125 days so far while in office. Those numbers have risen a bit due to the Martha’s Vineyard vacation, but that’s still many fewer than George W. Bush’s 65 combined trips to his Texas ranch and his parents’ home in Kennebunkport, Maine, which totaled 407 days at the same point in his presidency."

Other presidents who out-golfed the President: Eisenhower (just under 800 rounds), and Woodrow Wilson, the reigning champion of Presidential golfers. Wilson managed some 1,200 rounds during his time in office.

Regarding his Starbucks salute, I don't care how he does this, as long as he does not send American troops to the Middle East. We've been there, done that already.
